DIY Spring Tin Bucket Vase

I love to make project which involves typography because I enjoy looking at it and I think it add values. Let say a plain tray compared to a tray with some writings, I’m sure each will have its beauty but the tray with the writings will speak more. As I explain before in my previews project, Upcycled Tin Can Vase Holder; “Typography isĀ the art and technique of arranging type to make written language legible, readable and appealing when displayed. The arrangement of type involves selecting typefaces, point sizes, line lengths, line spacing, letter spacing, and spaces between pairs of letters.” (Wikipedia). Now, I made another typography DIY Spring decoration, which is DIY Spring Tin Bucket Vase.

Things To Prepare

I’m sure you can get a tin bucket easily, whether is a vintage tin bucket, cookie’s tin or others. Try to replace it with something similar to my materials if you don’t have the same one. Just use whatever you have at home like I always do. Use more recycled things and use some scraps from previous projects. I guess that’s one of a best way to be sustainable. Let’s see what are the list of supplies for this DIY Spring Tin Bucket Vase:

  • tin bucket ( I use a cookie’s tin)
  • Jute rope (thick)
  • White paint
  • Blue paint
  • Black acrylic marker

How To Make

It’s an easy Upcycled Spring project which you can make in a short time. Anyway, follow these easy steps on how to do DIY Spring Tin Bucket Vase:

1. Paint the tin bucket with white paint as a base. Let it dry. Make sure it was cleaned before you paint it.

2 .Draw a wavy line that split the board into two parts.

2. Paint the second coat with blue. Let it dry.

3. Tie a little bow or knot around the painted tin bucket on the upper part with thick jute rope.

4. Last part is to write “Spring is here flowers are blooming” on the middle of the bucket by using black acrylic paint. Done!

A great recycling project for Spring decor. Get some fresh flowers or faux flowers to fill up the bucket. Arrange it in a appealing way and try to use big ball type of flowers or pom pom flowers like my favorite hydrangeas, and then you can mix it with single flowers. It’s a bucket vase which need a big volume of flowers to fill it up nicely.

This Upcycled Spring Sign from Bottle Caps project is my contribution to The Sustainable Craft Challenge Blog Hop hosted by Julie with her beautiful blog Sum of Their Stories. It’s a craft challenge with a sustainable principle behind it (upcycling, recycling, repurposing), which comes in different theme for every month. This month, the theme is “Typography” and February challenge was “Heart” and I made DIY Valentine Heart Sign Upcycled Pistachio Shells. Last month, the theme was “Vibrant” and I made Upcycled Spring Sign from Bottle Caps. I love to be part of this challenge as I love to upcycle things into something new, beautiful and useful.

How To Decorate Valentine Gift Box

Valentine is near and giving meaningful gifts to your loved ones is a must! Aside to that, the Valentine’s gift would look more meaningful if we present it in a beautiful DIY Valentine’s gift box. Well, I have an idea how you can turn a plain gift box into a beautiful Valentine’s gift box with just some gift wrapping papers. Let’s find out more How to decorate Valentine’s gift box.

Things To Prepare

I’m sure the list is an easy supplies you can get or have in your craft room for this Valentine’s gift box. Try to replace it with something similar to my materials if you don’t have the same one. Just use whatever you have at home like I do. Let’s see what are the list of supplies for this DIY Valentine gift box :

  • Gift wrapping paper with heart patternā€ƒā€ƒ
  • Foam double tape
  • Ribbon
  • Glue

How To Make

It’s an easy project which you can make in a short time. The look of your plain gift box would instantly changed into a adorable Valentine’s gift box. Anyway, follow these easy steps on how to do DIY Valentine gift box:

1. Wrap your top cover plain gift box with a heart pattern wrapping paper. Choose a beautiful part where you can expose on top of the gift box and always watch out for its proportion. Mine has a big heart on the right and a medium heart at upper left.

2. Get a small ribbon and make a bow and paste it on the below part of the box by crossing the big heart. making it good proportion and balance.

3. Next is to work with the two hearts. The two hearts are the ones that I turned into 3D look. I cut off the exactly two hearts from the same wrapping paper and stick its bottom with some foam double tape. The foam tape will rise the two hearts to make it looks pop out. Paste both of the two hearts on top of its twin on top of the box. Finished!

Look at the pop-hearts, aren’t they look look adorable? It’s a simple idea but it does make a big difference to a plain gift box. And this one has turned into a beautiful Valentine’s gift box. Easy and quick to make, ready to make one of your own? Remember to be creative in choosing the paper’s pattern and how to pop the right heart.

How To Make A Summer Lemon Theme Tray Decor

If you’ve been following my projects along this Summer, you can see that my theme for this Summer is Lemon. Anything that related to this yellow refreshing fruit, called lemon. It can be sunshine, yellow flowers, lemonade, yellow color. I think Lemon is so refreshing for Summer decor, it’s bright and cheerful. That is why I arranged this Summer Lemon Theme Tray Decor to brighten up my home. I put every project I have made which has a theme of Lemon. All put together beautifully in a Lemon Tier I’ve made too.

Things To Prepare

You will need some decorations and of course some lemon to make this Summer Lemon Theme Tray Decor. Try to replace it with something similar to my decorations if you don’t have the same one. Let’s see what are the list of things you need to prepare for this Summer Lemon Theme Tray Decor :

  • A Summer Sign with a lemon theme

DIY Summer Hello Sunshine Sign

  • A vase with Summer look

Upcycled Bottle Vases

  • Some yellow and white flowers
  • A lemon theme jar with some yellow straws in it

DIY Upcycling Plastic Jar Into Cute Holder

  • A faux lemonade drink

DIY Lemonade Upcycled Bottle

  • Some lemons
  • Some succulents
  • A Summer style tray

DIY Lemon Raised Tray

How To Make

Put everything together can be tricky sometimes. Not all things in a same theme will look nice to be put together. Anyway, follow these easy steps on how to make a Summer Lemon Theme Tray Decor :

1 . Prepare a tray with a bright color of summer (can be white , yellow, creme or wooden tray). I use my Lemon Raised Tray that I’ve made from a tin lid.

2. Use three elements of heights; tall, medium and short. Meaning, find things with three different heights. In that case, I use flowers in a vase, straws in a jar and a lemonade drink bottle as the tall elements. For the medium height elements; I use my Hello Sunshine Sign. And as short height elements, I make use of lemons and some succulents.

3. Determine the color scheme! It’s very important not to go far from a lemon color. Use colors that have shades of yellow. White will do great together. A green will compliment the yellow too, but you can use orange shades to replace green.

3. Last thing to remember if you try to make a theme tray is to arrange them by heights. Start from the tallest in the back to the shortest in the front to arrange all together on a tray.

The next arrangement is added with another DIY lemon I’ve made, which is DIY Mini Lemon Basket. Tell me which is your favorite!

A fresh looking tray full of lemon decorations which perfect for Summer decor. This lemon theme tray is fantastic on a Lemonade corner for your Summer party! add some glasses and a bucket of lemons on a table with The Lemon Theme Tray as a focal point. Happy Summer!

DIY Lemonade Upcycled Bottle

My theme for this Summer is Lemon. Anything that related to this yellow refreshing fruit, called Lemon. It can be sunshine, yellow flowers, lemonade, or yellow color. I think it’s so refreshing for Summer decoration. From there, I get an idea to upcycle a bottle into a cute little Lemon drink bottle. This faux lemonade bottle is great for Summer decor display. You can put it together with the rest of your Summer decorations, especially those with the lemon theme.

Things To Prepare

A short list of supplies to be prepared for this DIY Lemonade Upcycled Bottle. Try to replace it with something similar to my materials if you don’t have the same one. Just use whatever you have at home. Let’s see what are the list of supplies for this DIY Lemonade Upcycled Bottle :

  • A white plastic bottle (try to find the one that similar to mine)
  • Lemon color acrylic marker
  • Black color acrylic marker
  • White acrylic paint
  • A checkboard ribbon
  • A yellow straw
  • Hot glue

How To Make

I use free hand to draw the lemon cut and the lemonade waves. I think it doesn’t have to look perfect, just try your best to paint it. It’s using markers anyway, so it will be easy to control your drawings instead of using brush. Same way with the writings, I just write with hand. Anyway, follow these easy steps on how to do DIY Lemonade Upcycled Bottle :

1 . Cut a white plastic bottle into half. (you can paint your bottle in white if don’t have it in white). Use the upper part. This upper part I’ve kept it from my previous project which is DIY Mini Lemon Basket.

2. Draw a wave of lemonade on the bottom part by using a lemon color acrylic marker. Also paint the neck of the bottle. Let it dry.

3. Write “lemonade” with a lemon as the “O”. Use black and lemon color acrylic marker!

4. Then, wrap the bottle’s mouth with a checkerboard ribbon.

5. Now, get the bottle’s lid and paint it with white a s base color. Let it dry. After that, you paint the outer side with yellow as a lemon skin and the lemon segments on the inner side as well.

6. Once the lemon lid is dry, glue it to the bottle’s mouth by using hot glue.

Summer is coming and I have some new ideas for Summer decoration. A couple of weeks ago I just made a Lemon Raised Tray. And last week I designed a Lemon Notes for your working table with Summer decor. I love to see lemons on Summer, it’s cooling, bright colors and very refreshing. Trust me, you can get tons of inspirations from this sweet tangy fruit – Lemon!

Okay, this time, still with a touch of refreshing lemon, I made a DIY Summer Hello Sunshine Sign with drawing of a cut of lemon. Super easy to make! You always need Summer sign to arrange your Summer decor display. You can simply hang it or just lay it with the rest of the Summer decorations. So, let me share my steps on how I made DIY Summer Hello Sunshine Sign with a lemon cut.

  • A wooden plank (rectangle shape)
  • White paint

I use free hand to draw the lemon cut with some zests. Same way with the writings, I just write with with hand. Anyway, follow these easy steps on how to do DIY Summer Hello Sunshine Sign :

1 . Paint the wooden plank in white (you can use spray paint or paint it with wooden paint). Leave it to dry.

3. Lastly is attach a bow checkboard ribbon as a hanger to the Hello Sunshine Sign. Finished!

It’s an easy 15 minutes craft that you can make easily while chilling out in the afternoon. So, why not try to make one?

DIY Lemon Raised Tray

Last year, I made a tiered holder from cookie’s tin cans. I still save the tin lids. I use the biggest one to make a raised tray. Since Summer is closer and closer, I decided to go with a Summer theme, and I choose lemon to match this month’s challenge theme, which is “Fresh”. This raised tray is great as a fresh look for Summer decor.

Things To Prepare

Easy and short list of supplies to be prepared for this DIY Lemon Raised Tray. Try to replace it with something similar to my material if you don’t have the same one. Just use whatever you have in your craft stash. Let’s see what are the list of supplies for this DIY Lemon Raised Tray :

  • Tin Lid ( cookie’s tin lid)
  • Cream Color Spray paint
  • Lemon color paint
  • 4 drawer knobs
  • Hot glue/any strong clear glue

How To Make

I use free hand to paint the lemon. I think it doesn’t have to look perfect in segments, but if you like a perfect size of segments, you can use paper stencil to paint the lemon segments. Anyway, follow these easy steps on how to do DIY Lemon Raised Tray :

1 . Make sure your tin lid is clean. I usually paint it in white for a base, but you can skip that part and spray paint it with cream or white on both sides of the lid. let it sit for a while to dry.

2. Paint the inner side of the painted tin with lemon segments by using lemon yellow color. Let it dry.

3. Lastly is to glue 4 drawer knobs as legs to the tray. And your raised tray with fresh lemon painting is done!

Easy and quick to do! so, don’t waste your empty biscuit tin can, because both lid and the container can be recycled into other useful and pretty thing. By the way, I style my lemon raised tray with my lemon jars that I did a couple of years ago.

This DIY Lemon Raised Tray project is my contribution to The Sustainable Craft Challenge Blog Hop hosted by Julie with her beautiful blog Sum of Their Stories. It’s a craft challenge with a sustainable principle behind it, which comes in different theme for every month. DIY Flower Gift Bucket For Mom

Mother’s Day is just a few weeks to come. This year I’ve prepared a face skin pampering gift in a stylish Flower Gift Bucket for my mom. My mom loves flowers, that’s why every Mother’s Day gift for her has to have some flowers in any form in it. And now is this stylish gift bucket that has a big element of ribbon flower. Once you made one, I’m sure you will addicted to make more. It’s easy and quick to make, perfect for mini gift basket and mini souvenir bucket as well.

Things To Prepare

Easy and short list of craft supplies to be prepared for this Mother’s Day gift bucket. Try to replace it with something similar to my material if you don’t have the same one. Just use whatever you have in your craft stash. Let’s see what are the list of supplies for this DIY Flower Gift Bucket For Mom :

  • Plastic bottle (you can replace it with plastic jar or any other plastic holder you can recycle)
  • Pink ribbon
  • a faux pearl
  • Clear glue
  • Pink colored wire
  • Used white paper card ( I got it from toy’s box )
  • Black acrylic marker

How To Make

It’s super easy to make, but the result is a fancy stylish looking gift bucket that will paint a happy smile on your mom’s lovely face. Anyway, follow these easy steps on how to do DIY Flower Gift Bucket for Mom :

1 . Make sure your plastic container (bottle or jar) is clean. I’m lucky to have a white plastic bottle that I don’t need to paint. Cut the bottle in your desired height, it depends on the proportion as a whole bucket. My bottle is a square bottle with 2:3 ratio between the width and the height.

2. Now poke two holes, each on left and right for inserting the pink wire. Don’t forget to secure both ends by tilting the pink wire.

3. Let’s now work with the flower ribbon! Apply a little glue in the center of the front bucket. Start tilting pink ribbon from the center as the inner flower. Keep circulating from the back side of ribbon flower until the flower is as wide as the width of the bucket.

4. Add a little faux pearl in the middle of the pink flower.

5. Get a paper card and cut into a circle, punch a hole on top and write “Mom” by using black marker. Insert a smaller size of pink ribbon into the Mom-card and tie a bow to the bucket wire-holder.

6. Add in some fabric or shredded paper on the bottom of the flower gift bucket before you arrange the skin care and cosmetics inside. Also add a little piece of baby’s breath at the bucket’s corner. Super stylish and fancy!

Easy and beautiful stylish flower gift bucket for your mom. I’m sure the gift and the look of the floral bucket will make your mom happy on Mother’s Day.

This DIY Flower Gift Bucket For Mom project is my contribution to The Sustainable Craft Challenge Blog Hop hosted by Julie with her beautiful blog Sum of Their Stories.
