DIY Flower Gift Bucket For Mom

Mother’s Day is just a few weeks to come. This year I’ve prepared a face skin pampering gift in a stylish Flower Gift Bucket for my mom. My mom loves flowers, that’s why every Mother’s Day gift for her has to have some flowers in any form in it. And now is this stylish gift bucket that has a big element of ribbon flower. Once you made one, I’m sure you will addicted to make more. It’s easy and quick to make, perfect for mini gift basket and mini souvenir bucket as well.

Things To Prepare

Easy and short list of craft supplies to be prepared for this Mother’s Day gift bucket. Try to replace it with something similar to my material if you don’t have the same one. Just use whatever you have in your craft stash. Let’s see what are the list of supplies for this DIY Flower Gift Bucket For Mom :

  • Plastic bottle (you can replace it with plastic jar or any other plastic holder you can recycle)
  • Pink ribbon
  • a faux pearl
  • Clear glue
  • Pink colored wire
  • Used white paper card ( I got it from toy’s box )
  • Black acrylic marker

How To Make

It’s super easy to make, but the result is a fancy stylish looking gift bucket that will paint a happy smile on your mom’s lovely face. Anyway, follow these easy steps on how to do DIY Flower Gift Bucket for Mom :

1 . Make sure your plastic container (bottle or jar) is clean. I’m lucky to have a white plastic bottle that I don’t need to paint. Cut the bottle in your desired height, it depends on the proportion as a whole bucket. My bottle is a square bottle with 2:3 ratio between the width and the height.

2. Now poke two holes, each on left and right for inserting the pink wire. Don’t forget to secure both ends by tilting the pink wire.

3. Let’s now work with the flower ribbon! Apply a little glue in the center of the front bucket. Start tilting pink ribbon from the center as the inner flower. Keep circulating from the back side of ribbon flower until the flower is as wide as the width of the bucket.

4. Add a little faux pearl in the middle of the pink flower.

5. Get a paper card and cut into a circle, punch a hole on top and write “Mom” by using black marker. Insert a smaller size of pink ribbon into the Mom-card and tie a bow to the bucket wire-holder.

6. Add in some fabric or shredded paper on the bottom of the flower gift bucket before you arrange the skin care and cosmetics inside. Also add a little piece of baby’s breath at the bucket’s corner. Super stylish and fancy!

Easy and beautiful stylish flower gift bucket for your mom. I’m sure the gift and the look of the floral bucket will make your mom happy on Mother’s Day.

This DIY Flower Gift Bucket For Mom project is my contribution to The Sustainable Craft Challenge Blog Hop hosted by Julie with her beautiful blog Sum of Their Stories. It’s a craft challenge with a sustainable principle behind it which comes in different theme every month. This month, the theme is “Flower” and the last four months were “SPRING” “SOFT” “LOVE” and “WARM“. Fabulous Features

Before we get to this week’s link party, I’d like to share our featured posts that were shared with us this past week. It is so hard to choose only five!

These wildflower bookmarks are adorable. Sarita from An Off Grid Life and her children made these by foraging for wildflowers in their area. How fun?! I think my son and I will be doing this over the summer. She used a laminating machine, but if you don’t have access to one, they have laminating sheets available at your local craft stores and usually at Wal-Mart.

Next I chose these gorgeous floral cones from MaryJo at Master “Pieces” of My Life. In her post she shares with us cones for displaying flowers from three different materials. The one below is my favorite. It is made from burlap with a hexagon shapes and a bee design. She placed fresh flowers in this cone. It’s beautiful and the perfect addition to any Mother’s Day gift!

I love adding seasonal vignettes throughout my home. If you’re new to creating your own, or if you are thinking about trying your hand at one, Carol from Blue Sky at Home has created a tutorial for you to follow. She shares a few tips about what you should have for the base of a vignette and how to create them without spending any money. I just love this patriotic vignette!

It’s nearly summer, and three quarters of my family have summer birthdays. Which means themed birthday parties. Pryiam from Simple Joys threw a Mermaid themed party for her daughter. She created themed foods, games, and decorations. Ariel herself would be impressed. I love how her party turned out, so I’m sure any little girl would LOVE this party, dinglehoppers and all!

Last, but certainly not least, we have these blackberry and lime margaritas. How good do these look?! Libby from A Life Unfolding shared a recipe for creating these mouth watering margaritas, garnished with blackberries, limes, and lime popsicles. Be sure to head over to her site and pin this post for whipping up a few over the summer. I see myself pool side, sunglasses, hat, and refreshing margarita in hand!

A Mother’s Day DIY gift has already prepared, however, a Mother’s Day without a card felt incomplete. And Mother’s Day is just a week to go, so you probably think you wouldn’t have time to make any special handmade card for your Mom. Here I have an idea, a very easy DIY Mother’s Day Card that anyone can do, even kids can make. And it does look fabulous too!

I used recycled table calendar as the media. I like to work on black media, besides white. Black will really make anything on it pop! Especially when you pair a black with white, it will look super contrast. I chose flowers as the drawing and light it up with some gem stickers and finish it sweetly with a ribbon bow and a word “mom”.

Things To Prepare

This is a very easy and inexpensive Mother’s Day card project. A little time to make and only took a few things to make. Okay, here are the short list of items that I used to make my simple Mother’s Day card that anyone can do:

  • Black media for the card (mine was a recycled table calendar)
  • Gem stickers
  • Maroon ribbon
  • White marker
  • UHU Glue

How To Make

Quick and easy steps to make this DIY Mother’s Day gcard is very essential so that anyone can do, including kids. let me share you these easy and short steps to make my Easy DIY Card for Mother’s Day!

1 .First, I cut the table calendar black cardboard into a proper media for a card.

2 .Draw some little circles, five circles I did as the stamen. Followed by drawing the flower petals in sharp thin shapes like daisy flower. Use white marker for this.

3 .After finished with five flowers, draw the stalks.

4 .Now take the gems stickers and paste it on each of the flower.

5 .Lastly, add a ribbon bow. I used maroon ribbon. And don’t forget to draw a line to frame the card by using a white marker, then a “mom” writing. And you’re done!

Super easy DIY Mother’s Day Card anyone can do, right? So, Dads, daughters, even moms, bring along your kids and have them make the Mother’s Day card for your wife, moms or mom-daughter. If you want to make more Mother’s Day DIYs, you may want to check out my ideas below:

DIY Simple Mother’s Day Sweet Gift

Have you think of what to give your mom on Mother’s Day? I know it’s still weeks away, but time flies very fast, especially when you’re a busy bee. Planning a sweet gift for your mom is a wise thing to do and to prepare a Mother’s Day gift from now is even better. A mother’s day gift usually a very personal gift, something she would love of course and something you made by yourself would even add more meaning to the gift. I have this DIY simple Mother’s Day sweet gift that I like to share with you.

I made a decorated canister which I fill in with some chocolate that my Mom loves. I think it’s more personal than some purchased chocolates with a fancy box. Besides, our mom can re-use the canister to store her little things after she’s done with the chocolate. I decorate the canister with flowery look, which I think most moms love flowers and that’s including my mom. And she loves any shades of red, that’s why I chose maroon, which is the main color of the flower embroidery from my scrap fabrics. Let’s just go details on all things that I prepared to make this simple Mother’s Day sweet gift and how I made it.

Things To Prepare

This is a very easy and inexpensive Mother’s Day gift project. For that, it’s only takes less supplies to make it happen. And mostly are re-purposing things. Okay, here are the short list of items that I used to make my simple Mother’s Day gift:

  • Plastic canister (or glass canister), mine is
  • Maroon ribbon
  • Flowers embroidery (either scrap fabric or a brand new one will do great)
  • UHU Glue

How To Make

Less material and easy steps to make my DIY Mother’s Day gift is a great idea to personalized your Mother’s Day gift without consuming much time and money. You want to know how I did it? Well, let me share you these easy and short steps to make my sweet gift for Mother’s Day!

1 .First of all, make sure you have washed your canister and dry it.

2 .Take the embroidery flower pattern fabric and glue it around the canister. Position it on the middle height of the canister.

3 .Now, work with the canister cover by gluing a flower ribbon. Make the flower ribbon by tilting the maroon ribbon around the outer to the inner side of the cover in a circular flow.

4 .Your decorated canister for Mother’s day is finished but to add a finished touch, make a little card and tie it around the canister. Mine is saying “Best Mom”.

5 .Lastly, fill in some chocolate or maybe sweets that your mom loves. There you go, your DIY Mother’s Day gift is ready!

Super simple DIY gift but sweet enough to make your mom happy on Mother’s Day. I usually give my mom with DIY Mother’s Day gift, you may want to check out my ideas below:

DIY Pin Cushion With Storage For Mother’s Day Gift – No Sewing

Hello everyone! Mother’s Day is another two weeks, have you prepare anything as a gift to your mom? A special handmade gift perhaps? Let me share an idea of mine of handmade Mother’s Day gift I made for my mom. Since my mom love to sew, I made her DIY Pin Cushion With Storage For Mother’s Day Gift and I promise you no sewing work!

It’s easy and I used scraps I found from the fabrics to the foam for cushion filling. Funny thing is I get all the scraps from my mom, except the container. I got the container from re-using a hair product plastic jar. I thought it can serves as a great container for small things, a sewing kit organizer. Then I thought of sewing kit, yes, with top lid as a pin cushion and inside container as a storage to sewing kit.

Picture138

Things To Prepared

You can buy the fabrics online or just use scrap fabrics you can find at home. Just think creative to combine the fabric scraps you have. Okay, let’s run down the supplies I used to make this upcycling project of DIY Pin Cushion With Storage for Mother’s Day Gift

  • Plastic container or plastic jar
  • Sponge (mine is scrap sponge, that is why I have to put small pieces together)
  • Maroon fabric (any color is welcomed to replace it)
  • Maroon lace
  • Maroon ribbon
  • Pearl sticker
  • UHU Glue

Picture134

How To Make

It’s a no sew fabric project so this Pin Cushion With Storage For Mother’s Day Gift is an easy DIY. Your only tool to make this pin holder is glue! Well, let me describe how I make this mother’s Day gift.

  1. Cut the maroon fabric into a rectangle that the length can cover enough the perimeter of the container. And the width is twice the height of the container.
  2. Circle the back of the fabric around the container and have it glued at the end.
  3. Flip over the fabric and you will see the front fabric is covering the container like a slip over.
  4. Arrange the fabric to form three folded tiers. Secure each folding with UHU glue.
  5. Take the sponge and cut it into circle that fits the lid cover. I double the sponge as my sponge is only 1/2 inch thick. Glue it onto the lid cover. The sponge is serve as a cushion to hold the sewing pins.
  6. Cut a circle fabric to cover the spongy lid cover. Fold the end of fabric to the cover and finish it with maroon ribbon.
  7. Cut maroon lace of the flower shape one by one and use it to decorate the container lid cover. Use some glue too.
  8. Add some tiny pearls to decorate the container’s tiered fabric. I used pearl sticker.

Picture137

There are plenty of possibilities for you to explore with this pin cushion container. You can use your mom’s favorite colors, your mom’s favorite old dress fabric scraps or be experimental with the pin holder by using your creative mind. Easy and cheap DIY to make and perfect handmade Mother’s Day gift as you can find the supplies all around your home without having to go out and spend money to buy. So, you still can stay at home and be safe from Corona Virus but still able to creatively prepare a personal Mother’s Day gift to your mom who love to sew. And as I promised, this DIY Pin Cushion With Storage For Mother’s Day Gift is a no-sewing project. Anyway, have a great time making it!

DIY Wire Brooch for Mother’s Day Gift

Mother’s day is next month, have you think of something to give your Mom? How about you make something pretty with your own hands. It would be more personal and precious to your mom, knowing that you made it yourself. After all, most of you may have more free time to spent at home, so you can Do It Yourself your Mother’s Day gift. I have a Mother’s Day inspiration gift for this post, which is a DIY Wire Brooch with sparkling gems.

I made this very humble brooch with very simple things, just some copper wire and some gems stickers. It’s a cute gift for your mom, super easy too. Especially when you just started your hobby for craft; you can show of a bit of your new  hobby to your mom.

Picture128

Things To Prepared

You would only need to prepare three things with some craft tools to make this DIY Wire Brooch for Mother’s Day Gift. And those are:

  • Wire in copper color ( you can also use gold color to look fancier, mine is copper because I wanted a vintage look)
  • Gems stickers (copper and gold color gems and some pearl stickers)
  • Safety Pin
  • Glue
  • Hot glue

Picture125

How To Make

It’s so easy and simple DIY Mother’s Day gift, this wire brooch is only need 3 main things to be prepared and also three easy steps to make the brooch gift.

  1. Bent and form the copper wire into a flower shape.
  2. Arrange the gems stickers with desired design. Then secure each gem with glue. Let it dry.
  3. Take your glue gun, apply some at the back of the wire brooch on the center and before it’s dry, stick the safety pin onto the hot glue. Let it dry.

Picture127

Tips : If you want try other color than mine, please pay attention to the wire and gems. Use darker wire if you want your gems in light color tone and vice versa. I used different kind of gems in shape, color and dimension; but still stay in the same range of the color tone. I  chose the color tone of the gems that match the copper color of the wire, which is white pearl, gold range colors and brown color tone.

Easy DIY gift to make for Mother’s Day, just need a little creativity to arrange the gems on the wire brooch. More over, the result is amazing, looks pretty blink with a little vintage touch. You can come out with other color tone, depends on your Mother’s favorite color. Hope you have fun and creative time in making it!

Happy Mother’s Day to all Moms and Moms to be! Different country would have different day for Mother’s Day, but all moms deserve one day to be celebrated, pampered and showered with so much love, agree? And the best simple traditional way is to give mom flowers with a card. But you can give both in one card, a flowers card. I painted a bouquet of flowers in watercolor with the words “I Love You Mom”.

It’s just a quick painting with watercolors, but your mom would be happy especially if it’s her favorite flowers that you drew. So, be inspired, and if it’s not for this year’s Mother’s day, you can use the inspiration on next year or on mom’s birthday! Happy Flowery Mother’s Day!

DIY Mother’s Day Card – Hydrangea

DIY Mother’s Day Card – Hydrangea

I guess I’m a little obsessed with hydrangea, making a card of beautiful hydrangea? Well, for my defense, my mom also loves hydrangea. She’s the one who introduced me to hydrangea when I was a little. So, I made this card especially for her, my awesome mom!

Picture30

I used my watercolour pencil to paint the 2 little hydrangea and the background hydrangea. I cut the two hydrangea and stick it to the card with foam tape. For the “mom” writing, I cut the word “mom” out of a glittered paper. Yeah, hand cut! The rest you can guess yourself, very easy!

But above all those description, I was only following the composition from Less is More card challenge and incorporate it with challenge from Sketch Saturday.

Here is sketch #512:

I was intrigued to do a card with certain boundaries. So, I also registered my diy mother’s card – hydrangea to Crafty Gals CornerMix It Up Challenge Blog, My Time To Craft Challenge Blog and Everybody Art Challenge. These are all wonderful sites where you can share your crafting skills and creativity.
