DIY Jute Tray

A tray is not just useful as an organizer, but as a decorative purpose as well. You can decorate your coffee table, your kitchen table, dining table, even your night stand. Find some items, at least three things with different heights and texture but slightly has the same color scheme; and put them on your tray. I love to decorate with tray. If you’re my type of “decorator”, than I’m sure you will like my project DIY Jute Tray. It’s super easy and quick to make, budget friendly and only need two materials! Isn’t that great?? Of course it’s great, so let me guide you further on how to make my Jute Tray.

Things To Prepare

Easy supplies you can get or have in your craft room for this DIY Jute Tray. Try to replace it with something similar to my materials if you don’t have the same one. Just use whatever you have at home like I do. Let’s see what are the list of supplies for this DIY Jute Tray :

  • Thick Jute rope
  • Round MDF board
  • Hot glue

How To Make

It’s an easy DIY Tray project which you can make in a short time. The tray looks rustic and modern in the same time. Anyway, follow these easy steps on how to do DIY Jute Tray :

1. Paint the round MDF with white spray paint. Let it dry.

2 . Take the jute rope and apply hot glue on the perimeter of the tray, then paste the jute rope around the the tray.

3. Keep pasting jute rope around the tray until it reaches three layers. secure the end with hot glue and do it nicely. Done!

Easy tray from jute rope that anyone can do. It’s perfect for Winter decoration. Actually it’s perfect for any season because the color is neutral, so it depends on what decorations that you put on it. What do you think?

DIY Christmas Snowman From Old Socks

What do you usually do to your old socks? Throw them? Donate them? Or make them into a sock doll like what I’m going to share with you here? Well, I hope make them into sock doll instead of just throw them away. As it is near Christmas, I made a DIY Christmas Snowman From Old Socks. It’s an easy sock doll because it’s a no-sew sock doll! It’s super cute too!

Things To Prepare

Gather all your old socks for this DIY Christmas Snowman. Choose colors that you favor for this year’s Christmas. Try to replace other materials with something similar to my materials if you don’t have the same one. Just use whatever you have at home like I do. Use more recycled things and use some scraps from previous projects. I guess that’s one of a best way to stay sustainable. Let’s see what are the list of supplies for this DIY Christmas Snowman From Old Socks :

  • Old socks ( Mine are white and blue stripes socks )
  • Googly eyes
  • Red yarn
  • Blue buttons
  • Scraps fabric as filler
  • Clear glue

How To Make

It’s an easy DIY Christmas project which fun to with the rest of the family. Make one or more is up to you, just make use of all your old socks and turn them into Christmas fun. Again, this is no-sew sock-doll. Anyway, follow these easy steps on how to do DIY Christmas Snowman From Old Socks :

1. I fill up the white sock with some scraps fabrics and old ugly socks to make a head shape and tummy shape of the snowman. You can use other fillers. Glue the bottom part of the snowman to conceal the end part of the sock by tuck it in.

2 . Cut the toe part of the blue stripes sock. Fold the end and glue it and use it as a hat to the snowman

3. Cut some of the blue stripes sock an use it as a scarf. Glue it around the neck of the snowman.

4. Now, glue a pair of googly eyes and some buttons on the tummy part.

5. for the nose part, I use a red yarn that I form it into a tiny ball and glue it as a nose. Done!

It’s not difficult to make as it is no-sew socks doll. It’s super cute and fun to make. How great it is to use those old socks and turn them into Christmas decoration.

This DIY Christmas Snowman From Old Socks project is my contribution to The Sustainable Craft Challenge Blog Hop hosted by Julie with her beautiful blog Sum of Their Stories. It’s a craft challenge with a sustainable principle behind it (upcycling, recycling, repurposing), which comes in different theme for every month. This month, the theme is “CHRISTMAS” and the last ten months (there is one month absent which is on July) were “TRADITION“, “NATURE“, “SUNSHINE“, “FRESH“, “FLOWER“, “SPRING“, “SOFT“, “LOVE” and “WARM“. I love to be part of this challenge as I love to upcycle things into something new, beautiful and useful.

Easy Christmas Gift Wrapping Ideas

Christmas is just a week away, I’m sure some of you have bought Christmas gifts for your loved ones. But, have you wrap them all? Yes, wrapping Christmas gifts can be a lot of work, especially when we want to impress our loved ones with our Christmas gifts. Don’t worry, my easy Christmas gift wrapping ideas may save your Christmas. Let’s find out more!

It’s an easy wrapping idea since it’s only involving several easy-to-find supplies and it’s easy to do. But the Christmas wrapped gifts are going to impress your loved ones with it’s elegant and fancy looks. I let the gold nuances do the wonder. The rest are just simple look.

Things To Prepare

Super easy to make and easy-to-find supplies. It’s just great for quick and practical Christmas gifts wrapping preparation. Let’s see what are the list supplies used to make this Easy Christmas Gifts Wrapping Ideas :

How To Make

This is a very simple way to wrap a Christmas gift but the result is surely able to show how much our love. Anyway, just follow these easy steps on how to do easy Christmas Gift Wrapping Ideas :

1 . Get kraft paper and cut accordingly to wrap each of your Christmas present.

2. Tie each wrapped- Christmas gift with a string of gold ribbon in the middle part of the gift.

3 .Insert a Christmas cake topper (or any ornament that you have with prefered gold nuance) to each Christmas gift. I inserted a Mini Christmas Wreath topper, a christmas star topper and a white Merry Christmas topper. And you’re done with your Christmas gifts wrapping work!

Super easy, it took me only three steps to wrap each of these beautiful Christmas gifts; Firstly, wrap it with kraft paper, secondly, tie it and make a bow out of a gold ribbon and lastly is to insert a Christmas cake topper into the gold ribbon. Simply beautiful, that’s how I like it!

Upcycled Christmas Vase

This last December Challenge Theme is Winter! I love to upcycle things, give them a brand new life and turn them into something beautiful and useful. This time I get my idea from a vintage vase I found on Pinterest. I was inspired to make a a white winter vase which also goes well with Christmas theme. Now, the project is Upcycled Christmas Vase which recycling a Coke can. But before I move on, let me explain a bit about The Sustainable Pinterest Challenge.

The Pinterest Challenge has had a bit of a reboot for 2022 and is now the Sustainable Pinterest Challenge. Each month I join a group of creative bloggers and we select a pin or two that we feel inspired by and give it a go. Starting in January 2022 the Pinterest Challenge has a sustainable, eco friendly twist to it. All the projects shared will have something about them that involves recycling, upcycling, a general ethos of reducing waste and using what we have. It’s not about beating ourselves with a stick, it’s just about giving thought to how we can make small changes in our lives just a little more sustainable and reduce our impact on the environment.

Last month’s theme challenge was “Christmas” and I made an DIY Christmas Can Holder. For this month theme “Winter” as sustainable as a base to any of our challenge projects, I used a soda plastic bottle for a winter vase which looks fantastic as Christmas decoration.

Things To Prepare

Super easy and quick to make and easy-to-find supplies, so this Upcycled Christmas Vase from a soda plastic bottle is just great for upcycling project and also for Christmas decorations. Let’s see what are the complete short list of supplies that were used to make this Upcycled Christmas Vase :

  • Plastic bottle of soda (Large bottle)
  • used mug cover
  • Gold reindeer ornament
  • Gold ribbon
  • Gold marker
  • White paint
  • Glue gun

How To Make

This surely a super easy recycling Christmas project, I’m sure. Just follow these easy steps on how to make Upcycled Christmas Vase :

1 . Make sure your soda plastic bottle is cleaned. Cut two-third of top part of the bottle. Keep the rest for diy plastic pot or plastic holder

2 .Paint the plastic vase with white. Also paint the mug cover in white. Let it dry before continue to the next step.

4. Glue together the mouth of the plastic bottle to the mug cover with glue gun.

5. Draw dots by using gold maker on the bottom part and below part of the vase.

6. Take some gold ribbon and tie it to the vase, make a bow. And at last, insert the gold reindeer ornament. You’re done!

You can make this upcycled Christmas Vase for a center piece on Christmas dinner. Maybe I will make something to compliment the vase on my next post. We’ll see!

Now, let’s take a look at what the other Sustainable Pinterest Challenge participants have made for their “Winter” challenge.
