This September Challenge Theme is Nature! I love to upcycle things, give them a brand new life and turn them into something beautiful and useful. This time I get my idea from my own previous project. I turned something from nature as a decoration, which was pistachios shells into DIY Gold Acorn for Fall decor. Now, the project was DIY Pinecone for Fall which made out of seashells. But before I move on, let me explain a bit about The Sustainable Pinterest Challenge.

The Pinterest Challenge has had a bit of a reboot for 2022 and is now the Sustainable Pinterest Challenge. Each month I join a group of creative bloggers and we select a pin or two that we feel inspired by and give it a go. Starting in January 2022 the Pinterest Challenge has a sustainable, eco friendly twist to it. All the projects shared will have something about them that involves recycling, upcycling, a general ethos of reducing waste and using what we have. It’s not about beating ourselves with a stick, it’s just about giving thought to how we can make small changes in our lives just a little more sustainable and reduce our impact on the environment.
Last month’s theme challenge was “Upcycle” and I made an DIY Upcycled Bookshelf Bench. For this month theme “Nature” as sustainable as a base to any of our challenge projects, I took seashells from nature and made it into pinecones for Fall theme decor.

Things To Prepare
These fall pinecones are super easy to make and easy-to-find supplies you can get from nature. Let’s see what are the complete super short list supplies that were used to make this DIY Pinecone for Fall :
- Seashells
- Hot glue
- Gold paint

How To Make
My seashells pinecones are easy to make, the whole family can work together and make lots of these golden pinecones from seashells. Anyway, just follow these easy steps on how to make DIY Gold Pinecones from seashells :
1 . Make sure your seashells are cleaned. Start with a pair of seashells, followed by three seashells surrounding them. Repeat it with three seashells over and over again until you got the right size that you desired for a pinecone. Secure each step with hot glue gun. Leave it dry.
2. Paint the seashells pinecone with gold paint. Let it dry. Finished!
These gold pinecones are just great for Fall decoration or even for fall gifts, which made from seashells. Made them in different sizes and put them together in a basket or use one for each plate on a fall tablescape will also amazing. I served my pinecones together with my Fall Gold Acorn on my Seashells Tray.
