Home Matters Linky Party 400th Giveaway Edition – Special Fall Pumpkins

Welcome to the weekly
Home Matters Linky Party #400!!!!

A great place to come, share your blog
posts, and make new friends.

We are so glad you are here with us each
week.

We have made it to a milestone number of link
party posts!

The 400th party is here and we are making some
tweaks to the party format and to how we do things.

Don’t worry, you will still enjoy linking up to our
party every week.

Even better is that
there will be a fun giveaway chance with this post!

Read more below for some of the
details.

Starting with this party, there will be a monthly and weekly theme to the party.  The
theme is not only for us, the hosts, to share our thoughts and our projects that may showcase the theme, but it opens
up conversations with you, our fabulous readers, to share what that theme may mean to your home décor style, craft
project or favorite family recipe.

Each week as we visit your posts any posts that share something within the weekly theme
may get an extra feature.  However, that does not mean you only get chosen for a feature if you contribute to the theme
for the week.  Any and all posts have an option to be selected for a feature by any of the hosts.  The themes just make
for a fun way for all of us to get to know each other better. Resharing of formerly shared posts is totally okay.

The Theme for the Month of October: Pumpkins
and Breast Cancer Awareness.

This week’s theme: Pumpkin Recipes.

Next week’s theme:  Pumpkin Crafts and
Decorations.

I am not a food blogger so you will not find any pumpkin recipes on my site of
course.  However, one of my favorite pumpkin recipes is for a cookie that is so simple to make and I don’t even know the
name for it.  It includes a box of spice cake mix and just a can of pumpkin pie mix.  Anyone know what that cookie recipe
is called? If you do then share it this week so everyone can enjoy it!

Even more changes are coming for the Home Matters Linky Party.

Also starting with this the 400th party, the Home Matters Linky Party Features Pinterest
Board has been brought back.  Each week the featured blogger’s posts from all three host sites will be pinned and
shared on this board.

Each week the featured posts will be combined in a collage image and shared on
Instagram and Facebook, with a link to the party and each blogger will be tagged.

The 400th Party
Giveaway!

One lucky blogger who links up this week will win a $25 Amazon gift card.  The
winner will be selected at random from all of the bloggers who share a link this week.  Sharing multiple links does not
increase your chance of winning.  All you have to do is link up at least one blog post, and your name will be entered to
win the drawing.

Now on to this week’s party!  Can’t wait to see you
there.

DIY Thanksgiving Decoration

Pumpkins are just great element for entire fall decoration until you reach Thanksgiving. I made a DIY Thanksgiving Decoration by presenting a silhouette of a gold pumpkin with “blessed” as the sentiment. It is a painted Thanksgiving sign with a simple painting job. I have the pumpkin decoration in a white and gold color scheme with will be perfect for fall to winter transition decoration. Let’s find out more of things to prepare and how to make the DIY Thanksgiving decoration of a pumpkin sign.

Things To Prepare

I just love to play with any white media, and if it’s not white, I would paint it white. And this material I used, happens to be white, without needing white paint which is great for me. It’s a PVC board that I have in small cuts. I have some at my storage, so I used it to make some decorations instead of buying some new wooden plank. I also used the PVC board for some of my previous projects, like Black and White Halloween Sign and Coastal Coasters. Back to my pumpkin sign for Thanksgiving decoration, here are a few things I used to make the Thanksgiving blessed sign :

  • White PVC board
  • Black marker
  • Gold paint or gold marker

How To Make

This simple gold pumpkin decoration is an easy painted Thanksgiving sign. It’s just a mix of an abstract painting of a pumpkin and a “blessed’ wording. The steps are just painting steps. Anyway. here are the points on how I made the DIY Thanksgiving decoration:

  1. Cut a square shape of a white panel, I used white PVC board with 10×10 inches dimension.
  2. Paint a pumpkin in abstract look with gold paint or simply use a gold marker. Let it dry before you continue to next step.
  3. Write a word “blessed” in the middle of the pumpkin by using a black marker. Wait until it’s dry and you can use the gold pumpkin sign as a Thanksgiving decoration right away.

The steps are easy and the supplies used for my DIY Thanksgiving decoration are easy and simple. Grab your brush or marker to make your own abstract pumpkin and a Thanksgiving sentiment and you can show it off during the Thanksgiving dinner celebration.

Next up is dessert or maybe a snack.  Pumpkin Glazed Donuts, wow you had me at PUMPKIN.  Walking on Sunshine Recipes has created the perfect fall donut  with a box of spice cake mix and then topped with a homemade crumb topping and sweet glaze are baked in the oven using a donut pan.One of my favorite treats for Fall is enjoying pumpkin spice donuts. I think this recipe I’m sharing with you today for Pumpkin Glazed Donuts is better than the Dunkin Donuts pumpkin donut recipe because of the crumb topping and sweet glaze.

You guys, if you’re looking for a delicious, yet easy fall cocktail… this is it! It’s so simple, yet has all the elements to make you forget that fall really just means winter is on its way. The House on Silverado has created the most delicious looking martini, and I am betting it tastes just as great. Apple Cider Martinis, anyone else ready to see heck ya pour me one?

and today I am ending with Dinner, or supper depending on what tou might call it.  Fall comfort food at its finest. A Proverbs 31 Wife had me drooling over this white chicken chili soup.  Is this not perfect for cool fall evenings? It’s easy, less than an hour start to finish and because the pot needs to simmer awhile, you have plenty of time to wash up the meal prep dishes and set the table!

Halloween Framed Hand Painting

I love to draw, to paint and this coming Halloween was my inspiration to move my hand on a sketch book. On my previous post, I have shared a Free Halloween Coloring Printable For Kids and you are still free to download the template on that post. I drew and painted it to be framed as Halloween decoration. This Halloween framed hand painting; a coloring version of mine may give your kids the color inspiration to do the Halloween Coloring.

I hand painted the Halloween drawing of scary Halloween pumpkins, bats, a witch riding on a broom of the full moon. I painted it with watercolor. It’s a Halloween night that I wanted to show, so it’s a dark vibes I gave.

Picture24

Things To Prepared

I used white frame to contrast the dark shades I used for painting the Halloween drawing. Shades of watercolors I used were:

  • White
  • Vermilion
  • Crimson
  • Prussian Blue
  • Violet
  • Burnt Sienna
  • Lemon Yellow
  • Black
  • Green Sap
  • Green Deep

I framed the Halloween painting with white frame and black color paper card as the background.

Picture21

A Halloween painting to be framed and used as decoration is one of the quick solution to have your home a Halloween decor. And you can have fun with choosing the colors that you prefer for your Halloween themed home decor. Note: I joined Try It On Tuesday for this Halloween painting.

DIY Halloween Coasters From Popsicle Sticks

DIY Halloween Coasters From Popsicle Sticks

Halloween is coming soon, planning and preparing Halloween can be an exciting thing to do, especially when you plan to throw some Halloween party. Seasonal decorations should not be expensive, since it’s just a one time event. So have some DIY Halloween is a great solution. And on this occasion, I’m going to share with you some ideas of easy diy Halloween coasters.

I used 3 Halloween colors; white, black and orange. I made the coasters out of popsicle sticks, easy to find material, cheap and easy to work with. Seems like there are tons of useful things you can make from popsicle sticks; like for example, I just used popsicle sticks as a DIY Fall (in love) Sign.

What do you need to make easy Halloween coasters :

  • Popsicle sticks
  • Glue for wood
  • White spray paint
  • Black acrylic paint
  • White acrylic paint
  • Orange acrylic paint (vermilion)
  • Paint brush

Picture34

Not too many things you need to make this easy diy coasters. Let’s go through the simple steps to do this Halloween coasters.

  1. Line up the popsicle sticks until the dimension is about square.
  2. Give structure to the line of popsicle sticks
  3. Spray paint 2 plain coasters with white. Let it dry.
  4. Color the 3rd coaster with orange acrylic color.
  5. Paint one of the white coaster with shades of orange. When finished and dried, paint some Halloween sentiment and a little spider with its web.
  6. Paint smiling pumpkin on the second white coaster. I love the happy silly pumpkin look.
  7. Paint the orange coaster with spider’s web and then a little white spider.
  8. Finished! You can be creative with more look, the popsicle sticks coasters are like blank canvas.

DIY Fall Cork Coasters – Super Easy

DIY Fall Cork Coasters – Super Easy

Like I have mentioned on my older post that I bought a defected cork plate mat with a very good discounted price. And the great thing was the defects are so minors, just a little tear and chips. So, I used the cork mat into some diy crafting projects, first was Dog Ornaments and then some scraps to decorate multipurpose holders . And on this occasion is fall coaster!

You just need a cork mat, a drawing pen and scissors. That’s it! Hmm, and of course a little design for the image you need to create for the coasters.

Picture7

Super easy to do coaster, yes it is. How?

  1. Just cut a 3 inches x 3 inches cork mat in a shape of beveled square.
  2. Made three pieces or more as you like.
  3. Draw a significant fall symbol in each coaster. I chose a pumpkin, a leaf and an acorn for my three cork coaster. You can have it stamped instead of drawing if it’s more convenience to you.
  4. Finished! Diy fall cork coasters are ready for fall theme tea time.

Picture8

I love the simplicity of it, just a cork character meets a black ink which produced a fall cork coasters with the fall symbols. Easy, simple and cheap!

Do you have more fall symbols in your head? Well then throw it on your own diy fall cork coasters and be creative with it. And meantime, I’m going to work on new other diy project. As soon as I finished, I will definitely share it with you, so stay tune with me and follow me for more… .

See you again!
