Spring Painted Mug Vase

Spring is coming, how wonderful! Flowers will bloom, garden will be colorful and anything flowers will be a main inspiration for spring season decor. Recently, I just retired some of my used mugs. That’s why I did some upcycling mug projects before, now, and maybe more later. I have some mug stock waited to be born again. Well, this time I made a spring painted mug vase. for

For spring look, I chose flowers as the theme for my painted mug project. The ear mug is blue, so I though I need to paint some blue flowers to match it. And one of my most favorite blue flower is hydrangea. I just love to see hydrangeas, in all colors. They are just beautiful and elegant. And they can last quite long in a vase too. It’s actually super easy to paint hydrangea, let me share with you how I paint spring hydrangea on a mug.

Things To Prepare

It is totally painting work, so there aren’t many things to prepare. I used an old mug which already have scratches inside. And it was just a gift mug from some milk I bought. It has some wordings on the mug, but not in large area. So, it’s easier to cover it by small paintings. Anyway, here is a short list of supplies you need to have to paint a spring mug vase :

  • An old mug
  • Blue and white acrylic paint (you can also use enamel paint)
  • Green and white acrylic paint
  • Paint brush

How To Make

When I paint something, I usually forget to capture each steps. That’s because I drown in the painting moment until I forgot to take picture. So, you may find some picture steps are to advance, but I hope you still understand through my description below. Okay, let me explain on how I painted hydrangeas on my spring mug vase :

1 .Mix blue paint with white paint to get several blue shades. Then leave some white paint to be used as it is.

2 .I start it off by painting the wording area. My mug has 2 wording areas, so I have to paint two hydrangeas. I covered the wording by painting it with the darkest blue mixture. Paint it with small and short strokes, like patching up on something.

3 .Use lighter blue mixture paint and paint some petals randomly. Then add some darker blue to the inner petals. Lastly, get the white paint and put a tiny dot on the middle of the flower.

4 .And to paint the leaves, use the lightest green mixture of dark green and white. Paint a shape of hydrangea leaves on both sides. Paint a darker green on the inner side that close to the flower. Finish it off with white paint by painting the leaf skeleton. Let it sits for a while to get a perfect dried painting

If your mug is totally white, it would be easier, you can paint whatever color hydrangea that you like. And if your mug ear has pink color, you can paint pink hydrangeas. Just match it with whatever color mug that you have. Some mug has inner color which you can match with the color hydrangea that you’re going to paint.

And at last, I added plastic hydrangea, since I don’t have cut hydrangeas right now. And it’s still look pretty after all. Actually this spring painted mug vase is a multifunctional mug, you can use it as any other holders that meets your need.

DIY Bud Vase From Wired Bottle

If you get tired with plain white painted bottles for your home decoration; you should try my idea by adding some wire to it. Yes, I made a DIY Bud Vase from Wired Bottle. It’s an easy upcycling project, especially if you already familiar with painted bottles project. I just give a little different look by adding some wire and mini sign to the painted bottle vase. I used a copper color for wire and give a little sign with the word “Fleur” on it; which in French means “flower”. A little fancy touch to the sentiment may upgrade your wired bottle vase to looking more sophisticated. Interested? Let’s find out the tutorial that I have prepared for you.

Picture36

Things To Prepare

It’s a simple painted bottle project, I just added a little twist with the wire. So, basically you need an empty bottle with a bit flat shape and some copper wire. The rest are easy supplies to get.

  • Clean bottle with a bit flat shape
  • White spray paint
  • Copper wire
  • Balsa wood plank
  • Black marker
  • White gelly roll pen
  • Hot glue

Picture34

How To Make

This wired bottle for flower vase is actually very easy recycling project. Easy and less steps to make. Let me explain how I make my DIY bud vase from wired bottle.

  1. Spray paint the bottle with white and leave it dry.
  2. Make a little sign by using painted black balsa wooden plank and write the word “Fleur” with white gelly roll pen. I painted the balsa sign by simply using a black marker.
  3. Take the copper wire and tilt it five times around the bottle and then secure it with hot glue.g
  4. Finish it with the fleur sign on top of the glued wire while it still hot.
  5. I made over a plastic rose to make it looking better and relate to the white wired vase; by spray painted it with white. I sprayed it effortless, so I can get the shade of the original color.

Picture37

DIY painted bottle is one of the good way to recycle your glass bottles you got from sauce, wine, etc. This upcycling project turn your trash into a beautiful home decoration that you can be proud of, since it’s coming from your crafty hands. Isn’t that great?! This bud vase can be use to decorate your home in different seasons too, winter or spring, thanks to the white clean look. Well, I hope you get inspired by this wired bottle I’ve made. Have a creative thoughts to make your own creation!

DIY Spring Sign For Wall Decor

I had kept a defective wooden sign I bought in sale at Daiso for quite a time. I was planning to use it as a sign, but give it a totally different look. Since the old sign has already have a burlap rope as the hanger, it became easier for me to only transform the look. Since the Spring is still linger, I made a DIY Spring Sign that would look great for Wall Decor or just as a mantel decor.

I painted a bouquet of aster tied in a simple rope. I love to see some aster hanging on my wall; it calms me. It looks so serene with its lavender color, no wonder aster means patience; but some others said it is a flower of love and wisdom. It’s a simple humble looking flower with its own beauty. And it’s a symbol flower of September. However, I painted the aster with acrylic paint. Let’s find out how I make this simple DIY with a little painting job involved.

Picture15

Things To Prepare

It’s a make over project actually, because I turned a flawed sign into a new painted Spring sign. And here is the list of the supplies I used for this Spring sign DIY.

  •  Defective wooden sign (an old sign would do too)
  • White spray paint
  • Acrylic paints (white, yellow, blue, green and red)
  • Black marker

Picture13

How To Make

It’s mostly a painting job and you can replace the painting part by doing a decoupage. Anyway, let me show you the steps I made when I was making this DIY Spring Sign.

  1. I spray painted the half-price sign in white and wait for it to dry.
  2. Mix the paint to get the desired colors.
  3. I started to paint the petals of each aster blossom first and then added the yellow stamen.
  4. I painted the flower stalks, leaves and finish it off with a simple red string tied in bow.
  5. And last but not least, write the word “Spring” on the bottom of the aster black marker. Finished!

Picture14

It’s an easy spring sign to make for those who familiar with painting works. It’s just a simple painting of aster to mark a very calm spring. So, I hope you enjoy my DIY Spring Sign For Wall Decor and maybe inspired to make your own version. Have a fun creative spring sign project to do!

How To Make Tin Can Mini Spring Flower Cart

Flower cart is always a wonderful thing to see, especially a vintage look flower cart. Moreover if the cart filled with beautiful spring flowers, that would be a magical sight to watch. Since I don’t have any material to build a full size flower cart; I ended up making a Mini Spring Flower Cart from upcycling a square tin can. I had this idea circling around my mind for months and finally I get a time to finish it.

Picture7

I made the Tin Can Mini Spring Flower Cart with trouble finding perfect things to create the cart handles and the wheels, because I insist to use things that physically resemble a handle and a wheel without changing it a bit. And also cheap and easy things to find. And luckily I found those things in a mini home depot; well, actually the bolt and nut is a pair that my husband always have; so the ring bolt that I found is the main treasure. I choose it because it’s looking very simple, just simply round. Okay, enough about my idealism, let’s start with how to make my flower cart!

Picture4

Things To Prepared

  • Tin can in square shape
  • Bolt and nut (two pairs) / any shapes that looks like a pair of cart handle can be used
  • Ring bolt, any ring shape will do
  • White acrylic paint
  • Blue acrylic paint
  • Black marker
  • Glue

Picture2

How To Make

  1. Clean the square tin can and paint it with white acrylic paint.
  2. Have the bolt + nut that will serve as the cart handle and the ring bolt as the cart wheels, sprayed in blue acrylic paint
  3. Drill a hole to insert the bolt, ended with nut and secure it with glue so it won’t move. Make a pair of it to get the cart handle.
  4. Glue the blue ring bolt to both of the side front of the flower cart.
  5. Prepare a beautiful hand writing of “Spring Flowers” and write it on the both sides of the tin can spring flower cart by using a black marker.
  6. Now your mini spring flower cart from upcycled tin can is ready to be added with lovely mini flowers. I used yellow and white Rose Moss.

Tips : You can use other mini flowers you like. The spring flower cart would look great with artificial flowers or as succulent mini pot holder too.

Picture1

Interested to do a little crafty upcycling project? My Mini Spring Flower Cart from tin can would be a wonderful idea to try. Add more of your handmade spring decorations to your home. Or maybe as a DIY Mother’s Day Gift for your mom. Enjoy picking flowers you love for the mini flower  cart, enjoy the spring bloom!

How To Make Spring Table Runner From Rope

I actually wanted to make a floor mat from rope, but unfortunately I ran out of the rope. Silly me! However, I immediately changed the function into a spring table runner. I combined it with colored burlap rope. It’s a super easy diy to make, completely no sewing. Just gluing process is needed. Care to find out how I make the rope table runner with simple spring look? Let’s go through all things you need to prepare and how to make the spring table runner from rope.

Picture82

Things To Prepared

To make this easy table runner with a spring touch you would only need three materials . Below are those three supplies:

Picture80

How To Make

The process of making this Spring table runner is just as simple as I was making my DIY Spring Coaster. Try and follow these easy tutorial with the pictures above!

  1. Make a circular pattern of an oval by using the rope and add glue along the rope. Do it until you get the desired diameter.
  2. Secure the end rope with glue too.
  3. Make a circular flower pattern by using pink burlap rope. Apply it with glue.
  4. Take the green burlap rope and do a leave shape. Don’t forget to use glue.
  5. You can have a more durable coaster by adding a piece of fabric under the coaster with the same size and shape. Glue it.

Picture83

I love the look as it looks a bit like a crochet from far with the flowery pattern of the colored burlap rope. You can try other pattern of spring flowers to get a springy look. I did a Spring circular flowers as it looks like roses. You can be more creative not just with the pattern but also with the colors. Easy DIY for Spring? Get your craft supplies and make something creative for this Spring and have your home pretty.
