Shabby Flowers Hand Painting Wall Art

Showering your home with flowers for Spring decor does not mean you only have to use real flowers; but you can use flowers art wall, paintings, printing, artwork, and so on. My idea of shabby flowers hand painting for wall art is one of the perfect choice to decorate your wall to get the shabby spring look.

I guess I’m a fan of flowers painting; because this is the 4th canvas hand painting I have posted, Hydrangea painting, Sunflowers painting, Roses of Love painting and other flowers colored drawings; like Blue Roses and Oriental Orchid.

I used pastel colors to get the soft shabby wall art. I love shabby flowers painting, It looks so soft and calm. I hand painted it with acrylic paint on a canvas. This flowers hand painting used as a wall art would be a great for shabby decor.

I used quite a lot of colors, since spring flowers are colorful and each colors was mixed with white to get the pastel shabby shade. The basic colors are:

  • White
  • Black
  • Light green
  • Dark green
  • Dark blue
  • Red
  • Yellow

I hope my shabby flowers hand painting would inspire you to do your own spring wall art. Colorful flowers, shabby style are just my inspiration to do the hand painting. Well, enjoy my painting and thanks for your appreciation!

Shabby Farmhouse Style Of Organized At Home – Work Station

Shabby Farmhouse Style Of Organized At Home – Work Station

I love to sketch some interior of one area, or one room or simply one function. This a small functional area at home that I had in mind. A work station, yes, an area that often neglected in term of home decor or styling. Actually, work station at home is a very significant place for us to gain our creativity, inspiration, and mood. For me, a work station should be:

1. Organized and in-order

So it would not be difficult to work; like finding things we need, finding un-clutter space to work,  bring some peaceful mind to work. So here’s what to do:

  • Tidy up your working station, organized your stuff and keep it in wall organizer, drawer, boxes, etc.
  • Organized your activity every day, like making a to-do list, reminders and organized it on wall boards.
  • Always leave enough empty space in your desk, do not stack all your stuff on your desk, leave some room for your creativity to take the stage.

2. Beautiful and stylish

This is the most important ingredient in mood and inspiration recipe. Great looking work station and personal favorite touch will boost your creativity; well at least I do. so, style your work station with your favorite things, colors, patterns, style. in the end, your very personal touch will shown on your at home – work station.

In my design of this mini at home-work station, I choose to finish it with blue shabby farmhouse style. It is calm and sweet with the shabby touch and have strong character from the rustic look of farmhouse style.

The drawing is using drawing pen that I finished with watercolor pencil. It is a drawing that you can add anything later to expand the design of the room. Well, maybe I will do that someday 🙂

Well, I hope you enjoy my design of this small area of organized at home – work station with shabby farmhouse style.

DIY Pink Dahlia Flower Pot Holder From Ice Cream Sticks

DIY Pink Dahlia Flower Pot Holder From Ice Cream Sticks

As I have promised on my previous post (DIY Painted Coaster From Ice Cream Sticks), I will show more how to make use of ice cream sticks with unusual way. I made those ice cream sticks into wooden plates. you don’t need to use heavy tool to cut wooden plank and make wooden decoration. It is convenient, practical, super easy and cheap. It only takes two delicate hands and glue to do it.

So, this time, another functional decorations to make, a flower-pot holder from ice cream sticks. to give more personal and summer touch, I will paint the flower-pot holder with a pink dahlia plus the wording “la fleur” (It’s a French, which in English means the flower).

What do you need to DIY pink dahlia flower-pot holder from ice cream sticks?

  • Ice cream sticks
  • Glue (for wood)
  • Spray paint – white color
  • Acrylic paint – red, white, green, black color
  • Paint brush
  • Scissors

How to make a pink dahlia flower-pot holder from ice cream sticks?

  1. Apply glue (for wood) evenly along the ice cream stick surface. Glue the ice cream sticks to each other one by one. Watch for the same length and width.
  2. Line them all up and make set of it. One is around 25 cm (or twice more the length of the ice cream stick), the second one is  square in dimension, and the third one is around a dozen of sticks.
  3. Let it sit for a while until the glue dry and become a firm wooden panel.
  4. Spray or apply paint to all the surfaces of the ice cream sticks panel with white color paint. Let it dry.
  5. Paint the longest panel on the top area with white acrylic paint. Paint the pink dahlia on the white-painted area and the word “la fleur”. Let it dry.
  6. Glue the three panels in a way like on the picture.
  7. Your diy pink dahlia wall flower-pot holder from ice cream sticks is ready.

You can be creative with the painting for the ice cream sticks flower-pot holder, the object, the colors or the wording. You can choose any theme according to your home color theme or simply your favorite color or favorite summer flower. I chose the soft pink dahlia which I love most for vintage shabby look, besides blue. And I painted the french word “la fleur” to add more vintage feeling. You can also mount it on the wall and become a wall holder, for that you might need an L shape steel on the bottom for strength .

DIY Upcycle Frying Pan Into Shabby Wall Decoration

DIY Up-cycle Frying Pan Into Shabby Wall Decoration

Yes, this month I have more up-cycle, re-purposing projects than usual. But every month I will always share my creation on up-cycle or re-purposing project. This time, it came from my “junk” collection which mostly comes from my kitchen. Yup, that is because I cook a lot. And the kitchen junk is frying pan! I used lots of fry pan in different sizes. This one is the medium one, 18 cm. I can’t use it anymore because the non-stick layer is scratched a lot.

On this project, I made a wall decoration with wording plus a key hanger out of a frying pan. I always prefer a decoration with a function, so it is more than just a decoration but also functional. The wording is “My Lovely Lucky Home”. and the style I wanted was a shabby look, so I used light blue and white.

So, these are what I need to make the frying pan into a shabby wall decoration:

  • Un-used frying pan
  • Blue spray paint
  • White acrylic paint
  • A small paint brush
  • A hook
  • A hanger (I made from key chain)
  • Glue
  • Some organic rope

How to up-cycle the frying pan into a shabby wall decoration with the wording and key hanger?

  1. Take off the handle of the frying pan.
  2. Clean the entire surface, back and front of the frying pan thoroughly. Make sure it’s clean and not greasy.
  3. Spray paint the pan both sides with light blue paint. Start from the back first, let it dry then follow with the front pan and let it dry.
  4. Connect a hook into the bolt-hole (the one exist from the handle) until it tight.
  5. Cover the handler connector by wrapping it around with the organic rope and glue it.
  6. Glue the hanger into the upper back of the pan. Let it dry.
  7. Paint the wording with white acrylic paint by using a small brush. Let it dry.
  8. Paint circling around the front pan with white acrylic to give a white frame to the pan. Let it dry.
  9. Hang it on the wall by your foyer. Finished! You got yourself a shabby wall decoration with key hanger and a wording from a broken frying pan.

As usual, it is very easy diy by up-cycling something from your kitchen into something prettier and useful. Well, maybe need a little patience with painting the wording part. But not just cheap and help saving environment, you also got yourself a beautiful diy new home decoration with function. This is one of a creative example of diy up-cycle frying pan, which I made into a simple shabby wall decoration with wording and key holder.

Again, don’t just throw away things, even though you have all the money in the world, think of something creative you can do with the “junk” and turn it into something better in use and in appearance by your hands.
