Happiness Is Homemade 373

Welcome everyone to Happiness is Homemade! I am so happy to have you back with us. Each week we have bloggers stop by and share DIYs, home decor, recipes, tips and ideas, crafts, and all kinds of family friendly posts.

Our Fantastic Features

Before we get to the link party, I would like to share with you our featured posts. All of you bloggers are so creative and talented, I had a really hard time choosing just five! If you like any of the features be sure to pin them from the bloggers’ sites so you can easily find them later.

First up we have this fresh lavender wreath from Lisa at Fresh Vintage by Lisa S. I can imagine what her home smells like, heaven! She makes it look easy to make, but she had to outsmart hives of bees to get it done. I am now on the hunt to find info about growing lavender because I love this.

Next up we have DIY rustic wood blocks made into mini signs. I’ve been making mini signs for my tiered-tray, and I think these would be cute on your trays or vignettes!

The first week of May is Teacher Appreciation Week. Alexandra from Eye Knots Love shares with us an adorable gift idea, a crochet apple. I like to crochet, but I’ve only ever crocheted blankets. I think I may give this apple a try!

It’s still spring, which means it’s time for spring cleaning and organization. We crafters know how hard it is to keep the mess under control as you’re working on project after project. Debbie from Debbie-Dabble shows us how she has organized her craft room. I love that everything has a home in her organized space!

Finally, we have a beautiful sailboat wreath from Debbee at Debbee’s Buzz. This wreath is perfect to hang on your wall or door from May all the way until September for all of the patriotic holidays. She made this one for her son, and she gives us a look at others she has made in different colors. I love all of them!

Happiness Is Homemade #372 Spring Bloom

This is my final week as your monthly creator of our party. It has been so much fun browsing through all of your amazing creations. You all made it pretty difficult to choose features. Every one of them is a work of genius!

Little Treasures shared 15 blog post ideas for crochet bloggers that are truly amazing. It is no secret that I absolutely love crochet items and dearly wish I could find time to start crocheting again. Until then, I do enjoy looking at everyone else’s amazing work!

 

Recently a friend of mine brought coconut whipped cream as a dessert topping to a party and I was amazed at how yummy it was. It is one of those “I’ll never go back to the old way” experiences. After I tried it, I was hooked! Strength and Sunshine blog has a recipe for Coconut Whipped Cream that can even be made sugar-free, if that is your preference. I can hardly wait to make some!

 

Now this is a recipe that I MUST hang onto for the 4th of July! It has the red, white and blue colors and will certainly be a crowd pleaser. This AIr Fryer BBQ Chicken Recipe looks so delicious and, if you do not have an air fryer it also has oven bake instructions!

 

Libbie from A Life Unfolding created this amazing outdoor checker board table for us to see. Wow!

 

 

So, what do you do with all that leftover ham? Well, I can attest that this recipe is so delicious. My mom used to make ham salad the week after our Easter dinner and it was one of my favorites. This ham salad recipe from The Kitchen Is My Playground is a winner!

 

 

My friend Marilyn from Marilyn’s Treats makes the yummiest desserts. When I stopped by to see this baking work of art the Gluten Free Carrot Cake, my instant response was “I should have known it was made by Marilyn!” Her recipes are always the best.

It was an interesting week, a lot of self reflection and a review of 2020.  Bloggers sharing what they are working on and what their followers loved last year.  It’s tough I want to say,  selecting only 4 posts to highlight.  which is why I want to remind everyone, take a moment and search through.  This is a space to get inspired and help each other out.

Champagne Margarita’s

OK I know we just celebrated New Years Eve and I should start the year with clean living but I totally have to share the Champagne Margarita’s from The Kitchen is my Playground.  Champagne Margaritas combine the wonderful flavors of champagne and margaritas in one fun cocktail ~ perfect for adding a unique twist to your New Year’s Eve celebration, or to your random Tuesday.

Baked Ziti with Meatballs

Now moving into it is January and for some of us one of the coldest months of the year, I seek comfort. Comfort in my food, something that is hearty and tasty and I think I found it. How does a Baked Ziti with Meatballs sound?  I know it looks and sound delicious to me. Lou Lou Girls have outdone themselves with this tasty Delight

 

De-clutter the Kitchen

Confessions of an Over Worked Mom caught my eye with some great tips to start the year off right.  De-clutter the Kitchen seems a positive start to what we hope is a brand new clutter free 2021. The key wasn’t that I needed to organize my kitchen. The key was that I needed to declutter my kitchen.

And of course can it even be a Featured posts from A Labour of Life without featuring a tablescape?  Of course the Winter Tablescape from the House on Silverado caught my eye.  Setting a pretty and unique tablescape is a fun way to create a special meal at home, even if it’s not for any special occasion other than a snowy Saturday night.

I am currently (literally) in the middle of baking as many Christmas cookies as I can humanly make – because it ain’t Christmas without Christmas cookies!

I love taking a bath, especially on a long, cold winter night.  I think I’ll be attempting to make these DIY Peppermint Bath Bombs from Eccentricities by JVG to give as a gift to others and myself :).

 

 

Creamy Cheesy Brussels Sprouts with Bacon

 

 

 

I have a pretty standard Christmas dinner I make every year – ham with gravy, Paula Deen’s potato casserole, green bean casserole and crescent rolls.  My family requests just that, so that’s what I make.  However, that doesn’t mean I won’t make one extra side dish like this Creamy Cheesy Brussels Sprouts with Bacon from Drugstore Divas to spice things up a bit!

 

 

Easy Eggnog Cookies

 

 

 

 

I told you there were MANY tasty cookie recipes last week, and this is just one of them!  Either you love eggnog or you hate it – I LOVE IT!  These Easy Eggnog Cookies from Cook Clean Then Repeat will be a special treat to add to my Christmas cookie spread this year!

 

 

 

DIY Outdoor Christmas Planter

 

 

 

So I have yet to fill in my galvanized basin on my side porch with fresh greenery like I said I was going to last week, so this DIY Outdoor Christmas Planter from StoneGable Blog is going to be my inspiration.  Isn’t it beautiful!?!?!?!

Every year (usually) I make the standard peanut butter fudge for Christmas.  But Salted Dark Chocolate Bourbon Fudge?!?!?!?!?!  Thanks to Ann’s Entitled Life for being so extra with this share – I am HERE FOR IT!
