DIY Rustic Farmhouse Wreath

I made a DIY Rustic Farmhouse Wreath from ice sticks and decorated with lacey burlap ribbon. It’s very easy wreath to make and you don’t need lots of material to make it looking good. It’s simple and minimalistic wreath with rustic farmhouse style. So for those who has a farmhouse style home and love rustic decor look, it’s a great DIY wreath to make.

There are many rustic wreath made from dried twigs, roots, wood slices; but I try to use unfamiliar material for a wreath at the same time a very common craft supplies, popsicle sticks. It’s a quick wreath to do and has a simple farmhouse look which I love. Short and simple list of craft supplies is needed and easy steps on how to make this popsicle sticks wreath are being explained here with tutorial pictures. Anyway, let’s start with things you need to prepare.

Things To Prepare

It may took more than 50 ice sticks to make my rustic farmhouse wreath. Ice stick is a cheap supplies you can get from any craft store. The complete list of things you need to prepare for this farmhouse DIY are:

Popsicle sticks
Burlap
White lace
Organic rope
White spray paint
UHU glue

How To Make

This is a very easy and quick wreath that anyone can make. So, just follow these steps below and with a little guide from the picture above; I’m sure you can make my DIY Rustic Farmhouse Wreath

Take the ice sticks and form a circle by gluing them to each other.
Repeat the gluing ice sticks in form of circle again and again in different angles until you get the proper thickness and width of a wreath.
Spray paint the popsicle sticks wreath with white paint. Let it dry.
Get a burlap and cut it in into a wide ribbon. Glue a lace on top of the burlap and you got yourself a lacey burlap ribbon.
Cut some of the lacey burlap ribbon and make a bow that tied by organic rope. And use the rest of the lacey burlap ribbon to hang the ice stick rustic wreath.
Attach the burlap bow on the wreath’s burlap hanger. Finished!

This DIY Rustic Farmhouse Wreath from ice sticks with lacey burlap would look great on your front door or above your mantel. Especially to tie in with your farmhouse style home decor. It’s easy to make and has a very simple look, so you still have tons of possibilities to be creative with the wreath to make it more personal to you by adding more ornament to the ice sticks wreath. DIY Baking Tool Holder With Personalized Decoupage From Popsicle Sticks

On last week I have shown you an artwork paper for personalized decoupage. Today, I showed you how to make a baking tool holder from popsicle sticks and decoupage it with the artwork paper I have made. It’s not really a complicated decoupage since I included the background, so it did not need any difficult cut out, but more like pasting a sticker. Maybe next time I will show true decoupage which need more complicated cut out elements.

Things you need to make DIY baking tool holder with decoupage from popsicle sticks?

Popsicle sticks
Glue (for wood)
Spray paint – white color and clear color
Personalized decoupage artwork paper

How to DIY baking tool holder with decoupage from popsicle sticks?

Apply glue (for wood) evenly along the popsicle stick surface. Glue the popsicle sticks to each other one by one. Watch for the same length and width.
Line them all up and make five set of it. One set is around 14 cm (6 inches) for the bottom of the box. Another 4 sets are around 25 cm (12 inches) for the four sides of the box, enough to hold baking tools.
Let it sit for a while until the glue dry and become a firm wooden panel.
Spray or apply paint to all the surfaces of the ice cream sticks panel with white color paint. Let it dry.
Glue the four painted panels on top of the long panel to shape a box. Let it dry.
Cut out the artwork paper on the element you wanted to use for decoupage.
Glue the cut element to the front side of the box. Let it dry.
Paint the decoupage element with clear paint. Let it dry.

It is easy to do it yourself a baking tool holder from popsicle sticks and it is fun to do a personalized decoupage. So, let’s try your own baking tool holder with decoupage and upgrade your diy skills.

This would be my last project, at least for now, on how to make use of popsicle / ice cream sticks in a new way by making it into wooden panel which can be transformed into many functional home decorations. And the best part is no use of heavy tools and no heavy labor like sawing wooden panel etc. I have shown you some variations of these popsicle sticks projects; from painted coaster, painted flower pot holder, decorated wall hanger, boy’s animal painted wooden box and last this baking tool holder with decoupage; all from popsicle sticks.

DIY Boy’s Animal Painted Wooden Box From Popsicle Sticks

This month of summer season is full of my diy popsicle sticks, you must find it a lot during this hot summer holiday. Unlike other popsicle stick craft, I make it into a wooden panel, so you can be more creative with it but got the look of wooden panel. It’s like finding a new way to make a Lego that you can use to build anything you like. So, after I made a coaster, a painted flower-pot holder, a decorated wall hanger from popsicle stick; this time I made a boy’s wooden box with painted animal from popsicle sticks.

Things you need to make DIY animal painted wooden box from popsicle sticks?

Popsicle sticks
Glue (for wood)
Spray paint – light blue color
Acrylic paint – red, white, green, brown, yellow, orange color
Paint brush
Drawer knob

How to DIY animal painted wooden box from popsicle sticks?

Apply glue (for wood) evenly along the popsicle stick surface. Glue the popsicle sticks to each other one by one. Watch for the same length and width.
Line them all up and make six set of it. Two sets are around 14 cm (5.5 inches) for the bottom and cover of the box, another 4 sets are square in dimension for the four sides of the box.
Let it sit for a while until the glue dry and become a firm wooden panel.
Spray or apply paint to all the surfaces of the ice cream sticks panel with blue color paint. Let it dry.
Paint the four sets of popsicle sticks panel with round shape of white color acrylic paint. Let it dry.
Paint each panel of the four sets with animal shape. I drew a brown pony, a purple elephant, a green dinosaur, and an orange duck. Let it dry.
Glue the four painted panels on top of the long panel to shape a box. Let it dry.
Glue a drawer handle on another long panel to serve as a cover to the box. Let it dry.
Your DIY boy’s animal painted wooden box from popsicle sticks is ready.

You can paint other animal of your kid’s favorite. And for the girls, you can change the box’s color into pink or other of her favorite color.

It is a fun project to do and a great gift for kids. They would love to put their precious little toys in the box. But, you can also change this project for adult box by painting flowers, scenery or other objects. Just be creative with it. So, let’s get creative and happy trying!
