Happiness Is Homemade Link Party – Welcome Fall

Welcome to the Happiness is Homemade Link Party #445! I’m so glad that you’re here to inspire and be inspired by all of the greatness shared on this week’s party! If you missed last week’s party, you can check it out here.

This Week’s Features

This pumpkin baked brie made by Nicolle over at Our Tiny Nest is the perfect dish to bring along to all of those fall parties you’re likely to attend. It looks so cute and so easy to make!

Claire from Pillar Box Blue shared these super cute Scandinavian Halloween felt skulls that you can customize to fit your own Halloween decor style. Head over to get the full tutorial.

You will not believe how easy these crochet thread pumpkins are to make! Beth of Creatively Beth made them from thrift store finds, so they were affordable as well. You could even paint them black or dark purple to use at Halloween.

This bat and bow tree made by our own Bev over at Eclectic Red Barn is a great Halloween decoration that you can use indoors or out. It would be so cute made with longer branches sitting on your front porch this October!

Jenna from The Painted Apron created this beautiful pumpkin tablescape for a fall tablescape blog hop. It’s so lovely, and even my 11-year-old son liked it. He’s all boy, so the fact that he saw it on the screen and wanted me to choose it as a feature is high praise indeed!

DIY Pinecone for Fall

This September Challenge Theme is Nature! I love to upcycle things, give them a brand new life and turn them into something beautiful and useful. This time I get my idea from my own previous project. I turned something from nature as a decoration, which was pistachios shells into DIY Gold Acorn for Fall decor. Now, the project was DIY Pinecone for Fall which made out of seashells. But before I move on, let me explain a bit about The Sustainable Pinterest Challenge.

The Pinterest Challenge has had a bit of a reboot for 2022 and is now the Sustainable Pinterest Challenge. Each month I join a group of creative bloggers and we select a pin or two that we feel inspired by and give it a go. Starting in January 2022 the Pinterest Challenge has a sustainable, eco friendly twist to it. All the projects shared will have something about them that involves recycling, upcycling, a general ethos of reducing waste and using what we have. It’s not about beating ourselves with a stick, it’s just about giving thought to how we can make small changes in our lives just a little more sustainable and reduce our impact on the environment.

Last month’s theme challenge was “Upcycle” and I made an DIY Upcycled Bookshelf Bench. For this month theme “Nature” as sustainable as a base to any of our challenge projects, I took seashells from nature and made it into pinecones for Fall theme decor.

Things To Prepare

These fall pinecones are super easy to make and easy-to-find supplies you can get from nature. Let’s see what are the complete super short list supplies that were used to make this DIY Pinecone for Fall :

  • Seashells
  • Hot glue
  • Gold paint

How To Make

My seashells pinecones are easy to make, the whole family can work together and make lots of these golden pinecones from seashells. Anyway, just follow these easy steps on how to make DIY Gold Pinecones from seashells :

1 . Make sure your seashells are cleaned. Start with a pair of seashells, followed by three seashells surrounding them. Repeat it with three seashells over and over again until you got the right size that you desired for a pinecone. Secure each step with hot glue gun. Leave it dry.

2. Paint the seashells pinecone with gold paint. Let it dry. Finished!

These gold pinecones are just great for Fall decoration or even for fall gifts, which made from seashells. Made them in different sizes and put them together in a basket or use one for each plate on a fall tablescape will also amazing. I served my pinecones together with my Fall Gold Acorn on my Seashells Tray.

Here’s the list of projects :

How to decorate an organza bag

Pinecone Picture Frame

Pinecone Fall Swag

Fall Leaves Masks

Easy Pinecone Centerpiece

Autumn Leaf Candle Jar

Danmalas Flower Circles

Cat Toys

Pinecone Mum Arrangement

Happiness Is Homemade Link Party – Early Fall

Welcome to the Happiness is Homemade Link Party #443! I’m Niki from Life as a LEO Wife, and I’ll be choosing the party features for the month of September. I’m so glad that you’re here to inspire and be inspired by all of the greatness shared on this week’s party! If you missed last week’s party, you can check it out here.

This Week’s Features

This Book Page Apple by Laura over at Me & My Inklings would be an adorable gift to give to your child’s teacher on the first day of school.

Niky over at The House on Silverado shared her tips for creating a beautiful fall porch. You have to go check out her entire outdoor area, because the picture below doesn’t capture all of it. You’ll be inspired to create a lovely space of your own!

How cute is this fall book page leaf garland made by Mary Jo of Master”pieces” of My Life?! She created it during the 2020 school year when her daughter was having to do remote learning. We all remember what a nightmare that was! The garland was a great way to bring school and fall together. I love all of the different shapes of leaves in it!

Debbee of Debbee’s Buzz made this lovely fall twig wreath for her son’s new apartment. I love how unique the twig base is, and I’m going to be on the lookout for my own! Her son must’ve taken after his mom, because he has excellent taste in decor. You have to go check out his new penthouse. You would think it was styled by professionals!

Can you believe that Halloween is just a month away? This adorable witch gnome created by Lindsay at Artsy Fartsy Mama is on my list of must haves this year. He’ll be my first foray into gnome decor. Someone finally won me over!

DIY Mosaic Coasters

Old CDs are great upcycled material, amazingly. I’ve done a couple of projects using old CDs, CD Valentine’s card, DIY Mini Figure Tiered Display. This time I made DIY Mosaic Coasters from old CDs. I think it matches upcoming Fall decor. You can make many of these as Fall gifts or to decorate your own home for Fall. These mosaic coasters are super cheap to make, takes a little efforts and patience but is not difficult to do. Let’s find out more, shall we?

Things To Prepare

These coasters are super easy to make and easy-to-find supplies, great upcycled old CDs project. Let’s see what are the complete super short list supplies that were used to make this DIY Mosaic Coasters :

  • Old CDs
  • Gold paper
  • Glue

How To Make

This CD coasters aren’t difficult to make, but need precision. Great upcycled old CDs project to make with the whole family. Anyway, just follow these easy steps on how to make DIY Mosaic Coasters :

1 . Make sure your old CDs are cleaned. Every one coaster needs 2 old CDs. One as a base plate and the other as the mosaic.

2. Paste a gold paper on the base plate CD. Let it dry.

3. Now, take another old CD, cut them into pieces, one by one, and one by one paste it on the gold base CD. LIke completing a puzzle, and finish it. Let it dry and you are done with one mosaic coaster from an old CD.

My DIY Mosaic Coasters are just great for Fall decoration or even for fall gifts. These old CDs are given a new life as coasters. It’s also super inexpensive; just great for budgeted Fall. There are many ways you can come out with this mosaic coaster’s look, just be creative with it.
