DIY Simple Mother’s Day Sweet Gift

Have you think of what to give your mom on Mother’s Day? I know it’s still weeks away, but time flies very fast, especially when you’re a busy bee. Planning a sweet gift for your mom is a wise thing to do and to prepare a Mother’s Day gift from now is even better. A mother’s day gift usually a very personal gift, something she would love of course and something you made by yourself would even add more meaning to the gift. I have this DIY simple Mother’s Day sweet gift that I like to share with you.

I made a decorated canister which I fill in with some chocolate that my Mom loves. I think it’s more personal than some purchased chocolates with a fancy box. Besides, our mom can re-use the canister to store her little things after she’s done with the chocolate. I decorate the canister with flowery look, which I think most moms love flowers and that’s including my mom. And she loves any shades of red, that’s why I chose maroon, which is the main color of the flower embroidery from my scrap fabrics. Let’s just go details on all things that I prepared to make this simple Mother’s Day sweet gift and how I made it.

Things To Prepare

This is a very easy and inexpensive Mother’s Day gift project. For that, it’s only takes less supplies to make it happen. And mostly are re-purposing things. Okay, here are the short list of items that I used to make my simple Mother’s Day gift:

  • Plastic canister (or glass canister), mine is
  • Maroon ribbon
  • Flowers embroidery (either scrap fabric or a brand new one will do great)
  • UHU Glue

How To Make

Less material and easy steps to make my DIY Mother’s Day gift is a great idea to personalized your Mother’s Day gift without consuming much time and money. You want to know how I did it? Well, let me share you these easy and short steps to make my sweet gift for Mother’s Day!

1 .First of all, make sure you have washed your canister and dry it.

2 .Take the embroidery flower pattern fabric and glue it around the canister. Position it on the middle height of the canister.

3 .Now, work with the canister cover by gluing a flower ribbon. Make the flower ribbon by tilting the maroon ribbon around the outer to the inner side of the cover in a circular flow.

4 .Your decorated canister for Mother’s day is finished but to add a finished touch, make a little card and tie it around the canister. Mine is saying “Best Mom”.

5 .Lastly, fill in some chocolate or maybe sweets that your mom loves. There you go, your DIY Mother’s Day gift is ready!

Super simple DIY gift but sweet enough to make your mom happy on Mother’s Day. I usually give my mom with DIY Mother’s Day gift, you may want to check out my ideas below:

DIY Spring Painted Poppy Sign

I don’t have time to paint a proper painting on a canvas since my kid’s online school has begun. So, I’ve been doing a little painting in different media most of the time. Just like what I did for this Spring wall sign. I painted some pink poppies on a rusty enamel cover. I love the natural rust on my old pale greenish yellow enamel cover. Actually I found it at my Mom’s storage. Funny, you can find treasure sometimes in a storage.

I chose pink poppy among many colors, because it’s not red which mostly represent sad of death, it’s also not blue which I find it beautiful but it will look pale for my spring sign, so I think a beautiful and cheerful pink would look fantastic to represent colorful spring season.

Things To Prepare

You can find other media to work with to have a similar look as my spring painted poppy sign. Get any rusty enamel of cooking or eating tools to work with. Enamel is perfect for painting as it has a smooth surface; then it can also turned rusty, so we can get the rustic style. My enamel cover has a depth on the back side, so I can hang it without a hanger addition. So, you can add a hanger if you can’t hang your enamel media on the wall. You can be creative with the hanger you are going to choose. And for the paint, I used several colors and a brush with a small sharp tip, which all can be found at Michaels. Anyway, these are all the items I used to make my DIY Spring Painted Poppy Sign happened :

  • Old rusty enamel cover
  • Red acrylic paint
  • White acrylic paint
  • Green acrylic paint
  • Brown acrylic paint
  • Black permanent marker

How To Make

The tittle is DIY Spring Painted Poppy Sign, so yes, it’s all about painting works. Painting a poppy is as simple as the flower itself, but there’s something about poppy that really caught my eyes. I still don’t know what it is. Maybe because of its simplicity, a raw beauty. Well, that’s what I think, what about you? Well, I tried to explain step by step on how I paint these pink poppies.

1 .First of all, make sure you have washed your enamel media and dry it.

2 .Mix some paint. Mix white and red to get pink, have two to three shades of pink. Mix green with white to get two shades of green. Prepare your brown acrylic paint too. Don’t forget to leave white paint for adding some shades.

3 .I started out with lighter pink and paint four petals of poppy. I painted one of front view, the other one is a bit side look and the rest are the buds.

4 .Then I continue with darker pink to give shadows from inner to outer petals. Concentrated on the inner parts.

5 .Get some brown and paint the stamens, I did it by dotting my brush.

6 . Next is to use green in two shades to paint the stalks and buds. Let it dry and your Spring painting is finished!

7. Lastly, take a black permanent marker and write the word “SPRING” on top of the Spring sign. You are done with the painted poppy sign! I finished it in less than 10 minutes. You have to be quick anyway, if you use acrylic paint, as it will dry quite fast.

I never learn how to paint in a course or something, just autodidacts. So, maybe I don’t have fancy techniques to share, I just use my senses every time I paint. So it’s hard for me to explain in details; as for me, painting is coming from my heart, senses and feelings. But I really hope my explanation and those step by step pictures I gave, would help you paint beautiful pink poppy. This beautiful Spring Painted Poppy Sign with rustic enamel as the canvas, would look great for your farmhouse decor or even vintage shabby decor. Would that be great? Two styles decor in one plate.

How To Make Coastal Easter Eggs Decoration

If your home is by the coastal area or you just love a coastal theme decor, why don’t you have your Easter decor this year in Coastal theme?! Coastal theme will bring some freshness to your Easter decor at home. With bright colors and some coastal ornaments, your Easter eggs decoration will look fantastic and fresh. Take a look at my Coastal Easter Eggs decoration and scroll more on how do I make it. It would be a great addition to your Easter Coastal decor.

How to make a Coastal Easter Eggs decoration? It is actually easy, you would only need three things for that; which are:

1. For the eggs, paint them in pastel colors, if you want to stress more on the coastal feeling, use blue a lot.

2. Add some beachy ornaments, like seashells, starfish, and so on.

3. Don’t forget to bring in some nautical ornaments, like anchor, ship wheel and many more.

With only that three elements, you can make a stunning Coastal Easter Egg Decoration. As easy as that! Well, if you still unclear, let me show you how I made my Coastal Easter Eggs Decoration.

Things To Prepare

This Coastal Easter Eggs decoration is a low budget Easter decoration. Use some eggshells and seashells an a tin can lid and you are ready for the project. Seashells and a tin can lid are used to make a seashells tray. And for the seashells tray, you can check out my post on how to make it. Anyway, here are the complete list of supplies that you need to prepare for this coastal Easter decoration :

  • Eggshells (I used chicken egg and quail eggs)
  • Fake moss
  • Acrylic paint in green, white, red, blue, yellow.
  • Black permanent marker
  • Seashells Tray

How To Make

This is a quick Easter decoration you can make in last minutes. Super easy to make too. You can make it into a large Easter decoration or a small Coastal Easter decoration, it’s all up to you. If you want to make a large one, use a bigger tray and more eggs. Mine, I made a small one which great for a coffee table decoration or mixed together with other Easter decoration which of course a coastal theme Easter.

1 .Make a hole on the bottom of the egg, very gently, to empty the egg. Wash all the eggshells and let sit for a while until it’s dry.

2 .Paint the eggshells in pastel colors of white, blue, green, yellow, and pink. How to get a pastel color? You can get it from mixing a color with white. By mixing a color with white, you will have a lighter and softer color. Let it dry after painting.

3 .I used my seashells tray I made before last year. You can check out how I made it; or if you have a round plain rustic blue tray, it will do too.

4 .Take some fake moss and arrange it on the tray, it would look as if it’s a bird’s nest.

5 .Don’t forget to draw an anchor by using a black marker on the white chicken eggshell.

6 . Place all the painted Easter eggs and arrange them nicely on the fake moss. Add some seashells and maybe starfish if you have one. And it’s done!

Super easy and quick to make isn’t? A Coastal Easter Eggs decoration that you can prepare in last minute. I also have an easy Easter Wreath I made last week, it’s an upcycled low budget Easter decoration that you will love to make. Well, Easter is still a week to come, better get moving and get your home ready for Easter decor.

Spring Painted Mug Vase

Spring is coming, how wonderful! Flowers will bloom, garden will be colorful and anything flowers will be a main inspiration for spring season decor. Recently, I just retired some of my used mugs. That’s why I did some upcycling mug projects before, now, and maybe more later. I have some mug stock waited to be born again. Well, this time I made a spring painted mug vase. for

For spring look, I chose flowers as the theme for my painted mug project. The ear mug is blue, so I though I need to paint some blue flowers to match it. And one of my most favorite blue flower is hydrangea. I just love to see hydrangeas, in all colors. They are just beautiful and elegant. And they can last quite long in a vase too. It’s actually super easy to paint hydrangea, let me share with you how I paint spring hydrangea on a mug.

Things To Prepare

It is totally painting work, so there aren’t many things to prepare. I used an old mug which already have scratches inside. And it was just a gift mug from some milk I bought. It has some wordings on the mug, but not in large area. So, it’s easier to cover it by small paintings. Anyway, here is a short list of supplies you need to have to paint a spring mug vase :

  • An old mug
  • Blue and white acrylic paint (you can also use enamel paint)
  • Green and white acrylic paint
  • Paint brush

How To Make

When I paint something, I usually forget to capture each steps. That’s because I drown in the painting moment until I forgot to take picture. So, you may find some picture steps are to advance, but I hope you still understand through my description below. Okay, let me explain on how I painted hydrangeas on my spring mug vase :

1 .Mix blue paint with white paint to get several blue shades. Then leave some white paint to be used as it is.

2 .I start it off by painting the wording area. My mug has 2 wording areas, so I have to paint two hydrangeas. I covered the wording by painting it with the darkest blue mixture. Paint it with small and short strokes, like patching up on something.

3 .Use lighter blue mixture paint and paint some petals randomly. Then add some darker blue to the inner petals. Lastly, get the white paint and put a tiny dot on the middle of the flower.

4 .And to paint the leaves, use the lightest green mixture of dark green and white. Paint a shape of hydrangea leaves on both sides. Paint a darker green on the inner side that close to the flower. Finish it off with white paint by painting the leaf skeleton. Let it sits for a while to get a perfect dried painting

If your mug is totally white, it would be easier, you can paint whatever color hydrangea that you like. And if your mug ear has pink color, you can paint pink hydrangeas. Just match it with whatever color mug that you have. Some mug has inner color which you can match with the color hydrangea that you’re going to paint.

And at last, I added plastic hydrangea, since I don’t have cut hydrangeas right now. And it’s still look pretty after all. Actually this spring painted mug vase is a multifunctional mug, you can use it as any other holders that meets your need.

DIY 3D Shamrock

Saint Patrick’s Day is just a few weeks to come. Some of you may already busy preparing green at home. Stay in budget and lower it down by doing some DIYs and even some upcycled Saint Patrick decoration. And for that, I’m going to share my DIY 3D Shamrock from upcycling some seashells.

It’s an easy DIYs and very cheap too. Easy because the steps are less and easy to do; plus the main material is from upcycled seashells. save some seashells after you enjoy them in your meal and make it into a nice Saint Patrick’s clover. Well, as for me, I always keep different seashells I had after my shells meal. You don’t know when are you going to need them for your craft projects.

Things To Prepare

It is a list of craft supplies you can easily get or even have at home, sitting somewhere in your craft room. Like I always say, you can always substitute my material with things that you have but similar, just be creative with it. Especially this is an upcycled project, more upcycled supplies is better. By the way, things I used for my DIY 3D Shamrock are :

  • Three pairs of seashells
  • Green paint ( I used spray paint to get a smoother finish)
  • Green checkerboard ribbon
  • Green flower wire
  • Hot glue
  • A white mini pot with white gravels

How To Make

It is an easy upcycled seashells project for Saint Patrick’s Day decoration. A DIY 3D Shamrock in a cute little white pot. It goes great with minimalistic home decor. Okay, this is a step by step tutorial on how I made my DIY 3D Shamrock from seashells :

1 .Make sure you have clean your seashells before you use it for the project. Take a flower wire and bend it into two and leave a loop on top. The loop will be the area for the seashells to be put together and form a clover.

2 .Glue each pair of seashells on the wire loop and form a shamrock by using hot glue gun. Let it set for a while until it’s firm.

3 .Paint the seashells shamrock with green spray paint.

4 .Take a green checkerboard ribbon and tie a a bow with a shape of a lucky clover which means the shamrock ribbon should have four sides.

5. Take a white little pot and fill it with small white gravels. Take the seashell shamrock and insert it into the pot. And you’re done with your Saint Patrick’s Shamrock from seashell.

My DIY 3D Shamrock will also look fantastic in plain gold or even green and gold pattern. It will be your taste to decide or what color or pattern do you want to pair your Saint Patrick decor with this year. Let’s bring some luck into your home!

DIY Winter Upcycled Cabinet Door

When you have an old cabinet door with some little scratches or chips, don’t just end it on a trash bin, but please upcycle it. It can be something pretty for decoration yet functional new thing. Like I did with my old cabinet door. I painted the upcycled cabinet door and turn it into a multi-functional hanger decoration which look great for rustic winter look. You can hang anything on it and it goes perfectly with farmhouse decor.

This upcycled cabinet door is easy to make, but yes, you need to paint it in a such way to get a rustic winter look. But, hey you can paint it white and that’s cool enough for winter. Every cabinet door may be different, mine is plain with no texture, that’s why I painted it in pattern to give an illusion of texture. If your cabinet door is already full of texture, then you just need to paint it plain white or any other winter color. And if you want some rustic look, paint it effortlessly with bright color on top of darker color. Also, do a little scratch to have the worn out look. Okay, let’s just see what I need to prepare and how I upcycled a cabinet door into a DIY winter decoration hanger.

Things To Prepare

Any old cabinet door will do, big or small, you can use them. The rest of supplies you need to have are just paints and beautiful hanger. And to hang the cabinet door decoration, you can follow my easy method with burlap rope or install a pair of hanger at the back. Anyhow, let’s be clear on the list of the things I used for my DIY Winter Upcycled Cabinet Door :

  • Old cabinet door
  • Black acrylic paint
  • White acrylic paint
  • Hanger
  • Burlap rope

How To Make

You can be creative with the painting work, choose my style or any other style you like is up to you. Other than that, it’s just an easy upcycling project to make. Let me share a step by step on how I made my DIY Winter Upcycled Cabinet Door :

1 .Make sure your cabinet door surface is clean, before you start with the painting job.

2 .I start to paint randomly with dark grey paint which I have mixed some black and a dash of white paint.

3 .Continue painting the cabinet door with white paint, over and over until you got the right tone. Let it sit for a while until it’s dry.

4 .My cabinet has a vertical metal stick door knob, which I keep it that way. Then I add an antique looking hanger on top. I use my cabinet door in vertical way. I also keep the hinge to tie up my burlap rope.

5. Last step is to use a burlap rope as a hanger to hang the cabinet door on the wall. And now it is done!

After you finish it, you can hang the upcycled cabinet door on the wall and hang some other decoration like I did. I hang my Winter Wreath, Valentine Burlap Sign and a Valentine Heart Wire as shown on the pictures. Be creative with decoration that you are going to hang on the cabinet door hanger. The upcycled cabinet door can be a showcase for the theme you choose. Why don’t you give it a try and share with us what are you going to hang on the upcycled cabinet door.

DIY paper weight can be a great Valentine’s gift for him and for her. It’s useful yet decorative. A Valentine DIY gift would be more meaningful and cost you less. My DIY Valentine’s Gift Paper Weight is a wonderful idea for those who doesn’t know what to gift her partner with something Valentine but not girly pink. Plus, it is so easy to make.

My DIY Valentine’s Gift Paper Weight is in black, a little gold and sparkling red look; fit for him or for her. It does look mature and has sophisticated colors. Therefor, your loved one can use it on his or her office and always remembers you. Don’t you like that?! Scroll more to see how I made it so easy.

Things To Prepare

Actually this is my upcycled project; I used my previous Pumpkin Place Card and re-purpose it as a Valentine Paper Weight. So, upcycling project doesn’t have to be always using old materials or things, but you can also re-purposing your own old project and turn it into new DIY. But I will still explain to you from scratch on how I made the paper weight. For more details, here are the list of the things I used for my DIY Valentine‘s Gift Paper Weight:

  • Ice sticks
  • Wood glue
  • Black paint
  • Gold paint
  • Red sparkling pipe cleaner (or any other color of your favorite)

How To Make

It is a simple and super easy DIY Valentine you can give him or her. You can use different color of pipe cleaner that you know your Valentine would love. Let me share the step by step on how I made my Valentine’s Gift from re-purposing my old Thanksgiving project :

1.Gather a handful of popsicle and tie it with rubber band. For smaller pumpkin, cut the popsicle into two.

2.Apply some wood glue on top and bottom of the popsicle pumpkin and let it sit for while until it’s dry.

3.Paint the undone paper weight with black paint. Let it dry.

4.Paint upper and below side with gold paint. Let it dry.

5.Take a red sparkling pipe cleaner and tilt it around the paper weight with the shape of a heart on top. And your Valentine’s gift is done!

It is super quick and super easy to make. Be creative by adding some personal decoration to the paper weight, maybe some initials or symbol on the Valentine paper weight. So, what are you waiting for? You still have a week to try this DIY Valentine’s Gift Paper Weight. Happy crafting!

DIY Valentine’s Gift Upcycled Mug

Valentine’s gift for men might be the toughest for a DIY Valentine’s gift. But I have an idea of cheap and easy Valentine’s gift for men. Cheap because it’s an upcycling DIY and easy because it was only took me some simple steps to make. It also works actually for men and women, because it’s a multi-purpose holder of upcycled mug that I made into a DIY Valentine’s Gift.

It can hold some cute heart pens, maybe brushes or anything on his or her working desk. The color is mature and has a simple look, great and work well with the rest of his or her stationeries on professional working station. Yes, professional, don’t you like the word? Anyway, find out more on supplies and tutorial for my DIY Valentine’s Gift Upcycled Mug for him or her.

Things To Prepare

This is an upcycled project, so you should find similar mug to work with. The mug patter can be anything, colorful patter, or solid color or even white plain mug. Once you’ve done with it, the pattern or the mug’s color will be focal point of this Valentine’s multipurpose holder. Don’t worry about ugly picture or pattern on your old mug; as you can see my mug has no beauty look on it, but after it’s finished…wow! Therefor, be more details, here are the list of 3 things I used for my DIY Valentine Valentine’s Gift From Upcycled Mug:

  • Old mug ( any color or pattern, as long as it’s not black )
  • Black acrylic paint
  • Black marker

How To Make

It is a simple and super easy DIY Valentine you can give him or her. You can draw a heart in different way you like. Make use of your creativity to make your Valentine gift more personal. Let me share step by step on how I made my Valentine’s Gift from re-purposing old mug :

1. Make sure your old mug is cleaned and free from oil. Draw a heart shape by using a black marker. Draw it in two outlines to have a heart shape with the mug’s color as the pattern of the heart. So the the two heart lines work as a frame. If you’re not fond of drawing, you can use a heart frame shape paper, stick it on the mug, then continue to the next step.

2. Paint the rest of the mug, only outer side of the mug with black acrylic paint. Leave it to dry. And it’s done! Can you believe it? As simple as that!

It is super quick and super easy to make. Super cheap tooo! Now, if you want to make your multi-purpose mug holder to be more interesting Valentine’s gift, add in some cute love stationeries or some love lollipops or even some chocolates in it and wrap it with clear plastic wrap with a Valentine’s gift tag and maybe a little red ribbon. Voila, DIY Valentine’s gift from upcycled mug is ready for him or for her!

DIY Valentine Burlap Sign

Preparing for Valentine’s day is fun and full of the feeling of love. It’s still weeks to go, but I really want to share one by one my Valentine’s day ideas. On today, I will start with the easiest Valentine decoration, which I made a DIY Valentine Burlap Sign. It’s nice to hang this Valentine cloth sign anywhere in your home. And it will look great with farmhouse Valentine theme.

I choose burlap to show some different look for usual Valentine which is pink and soft looking. Burlap is more rustic and full of texture. I made the Valentine burlap sign in white color and pair it with delicate white lace. Well, if you fond of farmhouse style or you are looking for something different for Valentine’s day decor, my DIY Valentine Burlap Sign would be a great inspiration.

Easy to make I can assure you and simple craft supplies that you need to prepare. So, it’s a quick DIY you can make together with your kids. scroll down more to get more details on the things you need to prepare and step by step tutorial for my DIY Valentine Sign from Burlap and Lace.

Things To Prepare

These are simple materials to use. Easy to find and inexpensive. I’m sure you will have fun with the 3d art glue paint; it’s a texture paint. If you don’t have or can not find the 3D art glue paint, you can use white hot glue. But it’s easier to work with 3D art glue paint, especially in lettering than using hot glue gun. Anyway, here are the things I used for my DIY Valentine Burlap Sign:

  • Burlap
  • White lace
  • UHU glue
  • 3D art glue paint in white color

How To Make

It is a simple and super easy cloth sign to make for Valentine decoration. You can write or draw the hearts in different way you like. Make use of your creativity to make it personal Valentine sign for you. Let me share step by step how I made my Valentine sign from burlap:

1. Cut some burlap in rectangle shape, the size is up to you, just remember to have it in 1:3 composition. It would look nice.

2. Glue a piece of white lace on top and bottom of the burlap sign. Let it dry.

3. Now write “Our” on top and followed by the drawing of heart shapes. Be creative with the heart shapes, the size, the amount and how you present the shape. All by using 3D art glue paint in white color. Let it sit for a while until it’s perfectly dry.

4. I have this side of burlap that I cut and used as the hanger for this Valentine sign. Secure it with glue. You can substitute it with burlap rope.

Easy and short steps to make a Valentine decoration that you can place it anywhere your home. You can hang it on your kitchen cabinets by making it more than one; or hang it in front of your doors at home; or hang it on your mantel, anywhere you like. My DIY burlap sign will suit nicely with a farmhouse decor.

DIY Winter Wreath Home Sweet Home

I made a smaller wreath or you can call it mini wreath for winter look. I add some flowery ribbon roses to the wreath with nude shades of color. I think this winter wreath can stay hanging for a quite long, maybe until beginning of spring, especially during transition time from winter to spring. A home sweet home sign to a wreath will never gets old.

My DIY Winter Wreath with home sweet home sign and ribbon roses is pretty easy to make. If you don’t know how to make a ribbon rose, you can buy it or find a tutorial in Youtube, it’s easy to make. I don’t show how to make the ribbon rose because there’s already a lot of tutorial about it. I first learned to make it was through a Youtube tutorial too.

Things To Prepare

Always remember to be creative with materials to use, find things that you have which similar to things I use. Try to use used-things or scraps that laying somewhere in your home and upcycle it. Upcycling, restoring, repurposing, recycling; all will save you some money, helps clean up your storage room and be green. Anyway, here are the things I used for my DIY Winter wreath with Home Sweet Home sign:

  • wire ( I used an old wire from my previous project)
  • thick cotton rope
  • UHU glue
  • Gold and silver ribbon
  • Ribbon roses
  • A home sweet home sign ( I made it from craft foam, you can use a small piece of wood plank or any other material you have at home, or simply buy a similar ornament)

How To Make

The wreath is super easy, I don’t make difficult DIYs, why waste your time on decorations, especially seasonal decorations. Find a simple way to make and think of something beautiful to show. Let me share step by step how I made my simple winter wreath.

1. I took a used wire and bend it into a circle. I secured it with adhesive tape. You can use anything that similar, as long as it’s round like a wheel.

2. Wrap the wire with thick cotton rope and use glue while you tilt it around.

3. Prepare your ribbon roses, I have ribbon roses in many colors, I love to make them from my ribbon collection in my spare time.

4. Make a Home Sweet Home Sign from a craft foam. You can use wooden plank instead. I used the brown craft foam which I cut into a home shape and add some snow along the roof with a white marker. Then I wrote “sweet home” as the sign has already in the shape of a home.

5. Glue a silver ribbon to the wreath as a hanger then add some gold ribbons.

6. Now glue three different sizes and natural color tones of ribbon roses to the wreath.

7. To finish it of, paste the Home Sweet Home sign to the wreath.

I love this wreath, it has a simple look of a modern wreath. The colors are calming, just great for winter season until transitioning to spring. DIY New Year Wishing Tree 2021

New Year of 2021 is just in a few days, so exciting! There are many hopes and wishes for the next coming year as we all have tasted the bitter of year 2020 because the pandemic. I’m not sure things will be a lot better very soon but as a human, I always have hopes and dreams from my faith for things to get back to be normal, maybe some miracle happens. Well, let’s get back to happy thoughts, let’s cheer up the new year of 2021 with big and wonderful wishes! And I got something to do that, a gold DIY New Year Wishing Tree 2021.

It’s a super easy DIY new year, with a gold touch. Well, I guess I always try to share a simple diy for everyone to easily follow. Easy, quick and inexpensive to make, but beautiful and functional, that’s the main idea and of course creativity it’s the essence. This DIY wishing tree will be my last DIY for year 2021, a wishful tree, a wishful creativity for year 2021. No more further, let’s go through all simple supplies I used and steps on how I made the new year wishing tree.

Things To Prepare

You can always be creative with materials to use, find things that you have which similar to things I use. The strength should be at least the same, because that’s the only things that matter. The look you can always paint it or cover it with other material to make it similar. Try to use used or scraps that laying somewhere in your home and upcycle it. By the way, here are the things I used for my easy diy new year 2021 wishing tree:

  • Sticks ( I used pvc panel and cut them into sticks with 1/2 – 3/4 inch; you can replace it with wooden sticks or other material)
  • Some small planks which cut into small circles, rectangles and squares ( again, I used pvc panel, and you can use wooden panel or others).
  • UHU glue
  • A gold wired ribbon
  • gold paint
  • Black marker

How To Make

My wishing tree is super easy to make, it is mostly a cutting works. Anyone can make this new year wishing tree. It only took me six simple steps on how to make my new year 2021 wishes hanging on my wishing tree:

  1. Measure and cut all sticks needed for the wishing tree. Those sticks are:
  • Two squares of 3×3 inches for the base plate. Don’t forget to drill a hole in the middle to insert a main trunk.
  • One of 3/4 inch wide and 17 inches long of stick as the main trunk.
  • Four of 1/2 inch wide of sticks as the branches. The length are variation from 6 to 12 inches long.

2. Measure and cut some small circles (diameter of two inches), rectangles (1×2 inches) and squares (2×2 inches) plank for the wishing ornament. Don’t forget to drill a hole on each of the ornament for hanger. The amount and measurement of the wishing ornament are all up to you, you can adjust it according to your need and like.

3. Glue the trunk by applying glue and insert it on the base plate. After drying, glue each of the branches to the trunk. Let it dry.

4. While waiting for the tree to dry and firm; get the wishing ornament and paint it gold. Let it dry.

5. Insert and secure a gold wire ribbon a s a hanger to each wishing plank ornament.

6. Write by using black marker the words “I wish” and “We wish” on each of the wishing plank. And then you can write your wishes on the back of each wishing plank ornament. Then you can hang them on your wishing tree. Done!

Cute and easy and super meaningful DIY New Year! You can still use the wishing tree for other decoration purposes once the new year is past. So, what are you waiting for? Make this wishing tree and make the best wishes for next year of 2021! Gather all your family member and have them make the wishing tree together and each get to write their wishes. Isn’t that fun? I know my son wishes for a lot of plant vs zombie toys 😀 Have fun! More best wishes, more best things come true!
