How to have a balcony without building a balcony? How is that so? Of course you might think of how difficult and more budget is needed to have a new balcony. Adding new structure to expand your floor is how you can have a normal balcony to enjoy. But, I can tell you that is not always have to be like that. You can trick your home to have a balcony of your dream. How? Well, by creating a balcony without building a balcony! Okay, calm down, I will explain more.

Window
In order to create a balcony, you need to work with your window. Weather your home is still under planning or existed, still you need to work something out with a window. Window is the essence of creating a balcony without building a window. What kind of window are we talking about?
If your home is still under planning and you wanted a balcony but you don’t want to add more significant budget; then you can use this trick that I’m going to explain. First, you need to have a big window that goes down to the floor. It’s called floor-to-ceiling window or a window wall. Make sure the window is open inward. A wall window would not cost you more than building a new balcony.
What if you want a balcony in your existed home? Well, if you have a ceiling-to-floor window, then bless you! You can proceed with the idea that I’m going to tell. But if you don’t have a big window wall; you need to renovate a little on the window which you want to convert into a balcony.
Balustrade
Balustrade is the other half-solution to create a balcony without building one. Install a balustrade on the outer side of the window wall and you got yourself a balcony without having to build a balcony.
You can pick any style of balustrade that matches your window style and that means matches your home’s style. You may have a glass balustrade to matches your futuristic home style. Glass balustrade is also perfect for view gazing. So if, you have amazing view to watch from your window, you can choose glass balustrade, so it would not block your view.
You can have a simple french style balustrade like my drawing if you love french look on your home or matches your french architecture home. I like the simple french style balustrade because I love a french window, which usually built in a form of ceiling-to-floor window. Choose whatever balustrade that you think suits your home and needs. The most important thing is you got yourself a balcony by simply installing a balustrade to a window wall.

So, what kind of window paired with what kind of balustrade that you love for a balcony?
